At least she finally is focusing her thoughts on Vinny instead of the idiot who carelessly left her at the altar. This is her own fault for not being honest with him, so I can't feel even slightly sorry for her. That probably sounds callous. Perhaps it is because I am a very straightforward person who hates games. More often than not a honest confession will sooth more problems than avoidance.
Now if Vinnie does take her back, he will have the same problem that she had with her ex: can he ever trust her again?

August is an ass. Vinny's a great man, and honestly I hope she doesn't end up with the ass because it just makes it cliché. I mean Vinny is obviously the better man, and Josie said she loved him. And she should stop being stupid.
Rant done.
Heh. Love your story! Keep writing

I don't know what to comment about this chapter. For all of his excuses, he humiliated and hurt her for his own vanity. If he was able to fix his finances as a single person, they might have fixed them together. Still, their romance sounds good on paper (okay, okay: on screen) but in reality she is about to hurt a man who really loves her to be with the man who was willing to rip her heart out. Logically, the choice seems simple. But love never works that way, does it?

I feel bad for her. If August hadn't shown up she would have lived a perfectly happy life. Unfortunately, the heart is its own mast and few people can fully control it. In her case her heart is self-destructive. Even for the sake of fiction and drama, is a man who caused her that much shame and pain doesn't deserve to have her. Oh well, maybe your initial statements are correct and this is what she will need to get over him once and for all.

She is making a huge mistake by not telling Vinnie the truth. The longer she waits, the more she will hurt and anger him. At this point her lies have become outright betrayal. Sorry but that doesn't make any sense if she loves the man.

August Daniels doesn't stop. He is either intent on winning her back or he is intent on destroying her life. Given his approach, he isn't going to win her back this way (at least, not in reality. In fiction anything is possible).

Though her move was drastic, at least she is fighting back. Thus far, regardless of his motivations, August has been playing a very high-handed game and boxing her in. If he wants to reconcile or make amends, then he needed to do it in an honest, forthright way. He has already hurt her through second-hand approaches, like running off on their wedding day without even talking to her.

Does the fact that Vinny was paying for the visits imply that he knew something about her past?
Wow. Vinny seemed like a great guy for the first four chapters. Now he seems to be something else entirely. Maybe she is concealing the truth because deep down inside she is frightened of Vinny's reaction.
The psychiatrist seems awful suspicious. They don't make hard-and-fast pronouncements like that. Their modus operandi is to lead you in certain directions of thought, not to jump ahead and declare the path for you.

He does seem to be everywhere. Is he stalking the poor girl for some odd reason or is this all by accident? He doesn't seem surprised at any point about seeing her.

So why has she never told Vinny about her past? It doesn't make for a good marraige if you start by keeping secrets from each other... especially unnecessary secrets.

August Daniels seems to be a persistent person. Or was it coincidence that he showed up there?

This part is a little confusing: Why were people betting to dance with a engaged woman... or is she engaged? This is her bachelorette party, right? So why the dance thing? (Or is this something new that they do at bachelorette parties?)
