Your stories all have a certain charm that I wish I could live up to.
The storytelling was vivid and lucid, and painted such an image! Especially in the beginning. I can tell you're not afraid to make people get out of their comfort zones sometimes. You're a sublime author.
All your stories seem to have a personal aspect. And that is something I admire about you. Now, on to the actual review.

Oh how I just love happy endings! *Gingerly pats eyes with a tissue*
Okay, even though it has a happy ending, it's not cliche or sappy or barfy. It's really refreshing actually! I mean, I sincerely enjoyed reading this. Plus, it put a bit of sunshine in this dreary day. I'm sorry that this review is so long over due. Gah, don't hate me.

Nice job yet again. Do you ever disappoint? I love how this story could be placed in any time period, reminding us of daunting past or warning us of our future. The ending does leave much to be desired, however. The introduction of the daughter, Vera, is a nice touch into our characters' future. Yet, I think describing in further detail how exactly our characters have set up their new life (i.e. their home, what they do to survive, what they plan for the days ahead) would have cleared up some of that "reader's want"- if you get what I mean. I did like how you mentined what happened to the Village, but I did expect Andy, who I percieved to be kind and forgiving, to act differently towards his father and the actuality of the entire Village being mauled by these beasts. Vera, that saddistic little child, even seems to love the story of eveyone's death. (I, personally, love that fact.) All in all, wonderful job. Haunting, mysterious, well-paced. I love it!
