so, this is the first story I read soon as I got back to fictionpress. I loved everything about it, and have grown very attached to Erane. I understand the hiatus - I haven't published anything in a while, but I do look forward to whatever is coming in store for the two.

Omg, lurker here, but this is bombdotcom, reminds me on Nenia Campbell's vampire fiction series. Love the true portrayal of a blood thirsty vampire and not some fluff puff.

What's with us updating on the same days? We must be consumed by guilt at the exact same times, hah!
I liked the chapter. I wish it was longer. Even though Ellon wasn't present, his treatment of Diana and the way she has learned to cope disturbs me. Erane might have actually gotten a better deal ending up with Rakis. I'd rather be with Rakis than that creep.
I really enjoy reading about Erane's introspection. It's definitely one of your many strengths. You manage to do it in a way that is always interesting, too.
This was my favorite line, "...and how Master Rakis manipulates me into punishments and choices that have been chosen long before I knew they existed."
I also like this one, "So we talk and talk, and I don't learn her favorite colour or her last memory of her parents..." It's just so melancholy. Erane is aware that learning someone's favorite colour and talking about their parents is usually how a get-to-know-you conversation would go, but it just doesn't go that way-not in this world. It's just sad. You write it so well. You could have easily said, 'We talk about all the different ways Ellon punishes.' But instead you bring up all the things they don't talk about. So beautiful...
I want to see Erane and Rakis together again. Their interactions are my favorite...does that make me a disturbed person? Hmm...*rotates pitchfork*

I just read all chapters of this story and I just wanted to let you know that I really like it! :) I hope you update it again soon! I hate waiting so much that I postpone reading stories that aren't finished yet. I have to say though, that I'm glad I started reading your story even though it's not finished. It leaves something to long for. I just hope you update real soon!

You make me smile like no other - and honestly, what I said was the truth and just plain observation! I do suppose, as a writer, it always makes me giddy to know someone has caught on and is starting to delve deeper into the actual story! You can count on me for more of that. It's strange, but I find I cannot not dig into a character and figure out the whys and whats and hows. This chapter was much the same in that respect, where we got to see a little more about Dawn as we now know. I liked how we were able to compare her to little Diana - and in a way, no matter how different they thing they are, I think they're very similar... And prove to be loyal allies. Her dreams however frighten me - and although I know not whose visions she has, they are a frightening hint of what might come! Definitely hope to read more soon, and thank you for the update! Can't wait for more x

You, my friend, have a gift. I haven't checked out your profile or seen if this is your first attempt/draft at writing something so delicately detailed, but this is amazing. There's this underlying hint of darkness and a bizarre danger to your writing - it speaks of intrigue and treason and a strange affection that seems to be emanating from our protagonists. I can see how this started as a Let's beat the cliché - and you certainly have beaten and bruised it, but it makes me wonder how this romance will take place. In fact I'm downright excited for it because you can see how these two characters have grown, and in a way become used to each other. I feel like, in a way, Rakis sees a bit of himself in her - and though her mouth often runs away with her, it's this rebellious, curious streak of hers that has actually had her survive this long. I do however, wonder why he chose her specifically, and who was his past - the woman whose name he uttered.
Can't wait to read more! I read this all in one sitting - and yes, I had a million thoughts and questions racing though my mind, I can't seem to find them now!
