This is one of the best one shots I have ever read. The emotions they pour to to each other, the way their longing for one other has been described here and the way they look at each other, beautiful and warm, in love really made my heart go doki-doki hehe. I love the way you described sahara as an independent, travelling photographer girl, and how she chooses to follow her dreams despite the fact that she would love forever to stay with Sam.

Damn. You can definitely pull off amazing one-shots, too. This was wonderful. I cried a couple of times, lots of happy tears. There were two times where your writing really did me. One, the paragraph where Sahara is described from Sam's PoV, the one from which the story's summary is taken. And two, when Sahara says what her favourite place is. It was so beautiful. You can definitely write about feelings, and not only disguising it with action scenes. This was pure emotion all the way through.
Like always, just brilliant :)

I absolutely adored this! Somehow, in the past year of following you with Vertigo, I'd never read this story, and I'm so glad I eventually found it! This story was beautiful and a little heart-wrenching and cute and solemn and hilarious and a whole bunch of other seemingly contradictory adjectives that I don't care to list out at the moment. I can't wait to read more of your stuff - both Ricochet and hopefully more in the future!

This was a one-shot worth reading. I like it. I like it a lot. There were tears in my eyes at the scene at the airport. You managed to keep things real throughout the story. I like that. I enjoyed this. Thank you for writing this. You are really talented.

oh. my. god. I started with teh exact same words on my most recent review, but my GOD THIS SHORT. IT IS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER. holy crap you have made me feel things that i shouldnt have to feel!
I can relate to sahara a bit. Ever since i was a child, I have moved, and I've traveled the world. When I was 14, I came to shanghai, china, and met the love of my life at 16. Sounds cheesy i know, but i can picture my future with him whenever I close my eyes. he's a bit like sam, he's been here since 2nd grade and has known the same people for years. Sadly, next year I will have to leave him and he me, since we're going to college. I have a feeling i will feel the same thing as sahara, excited for all the new things I will encounter (because deep down, i'm a nomad at heart) but missing him all the same. I hope my story can have as perfect an ending as theirs, but I know that such good things rarely happen in this world.
Anyway, i've left wayyy too long a review, but just know that you're the best and now my most favoritest (yes thats a word) author on fictionpress right now :D you've made my emotions come out (believe me when I say thats pretty darn hard) and my god you must do more. DO MOREEEE

Wow! You're really good. You've made me love the characters so much though it's just a one-shot. They're so real and loveable. Keep writing, it's obviously your calling.

You are an amazing writer.
This story was incredible. The feeling they had for each other was so heart touching.
A goal and purpose oriented female also getting love. That is the Motto of my life as well.
Why can you have it all.
Amazing truly amazing
Loved The Deadly Flower as well now moving to Vertigo.

Everything in this story are my goals in life. To take long ass drives around the city/town in a car with the guy I like, travel around the world, fall in love with my brother's best friend (even though I don't have a brother), just be happy! I love Sahara and Sam so much because they're so full of emotion with each other. I got tingles and goosebumps when Sam first saw Sahara after three years. Everything was just so realistic and raw I had chest pains.

Hello, it’s Juliet from ADoR! Thanks for participating in Star-Cross’d this round. Your lovely one-shot earns the honor of ‘honorable mention’ for the Sleeping prompt. For 18k words, there was no point in which I was bored. I found myself not being able to even put it down—I actually headed to the pool and read your fic in 95 degree weather! I didn’t want to get into the pool until I was done. Anyway, I’m digressing! The one-shot was wonderful. Sahara (a name that I really like, by the way! It suited her so well.) has such a dynamic personality, which is complemented splendidly by Sam’s unwavering feelings for her. The fact that he’s stationary and she’s brimming with wanderlust contributed to the conflict and beauty of their relationship. The point-of-view changes flowed well. I enjoyed how Sam had been reserved about his feelings for Sahara and was not forward about them; that’s not something you usually see in one-shots. The way you described her room and its coziness made me feel almost nostalgic for it. All of the characters were lovable and realistic. For example, the fact that Phillip was in support of Sahara and Sam’s relationship was a nice touch. Most of all, I loved that the happy ending to your one-shot did not feel contrived or expected—it just seemed like the natural course of events. The ending worked so, so superbly. I really hope you find yourself inspired by future prompts!

This was adorable! I like how it was focused on just the two MCs and they had a whole, long sweeping saga of a story that you managed to fit into a one-shot (even if it was nearly 18k!). I'm not too much of a fan of POV changes but I think you pulled it off really well here, and it was great to be in both their heads over their time apart. Also, the summary is utterly perfect. I thought that this line "Her name was Sahara, for God's sake, like she was meant to span across countries and continents and live some great big adventure" was the most beautiful line in the whole piece - I keep re-reading it because I love it! Hahaha sorry for my dorky moment. LOVED IT!

Very nice- well done short romance. I could really put my self running up the hill to the lake.
