Well, although I knew this story was not going to have a "Happy Ending" in the secular sense, reading the text and picturing the scene with my own eye, it's hard to keep myself from crying. Though all our days must come to an end, we are still free in terms of how we choose to meet that end. Truly there is no greater act of defiance of the workings of such evil men, than to face the fate they intend for you, not with fear or with apathetic, passive acceptance, but with gladness and singing, knowing the place which your Heavenly Father has prepared for you is far greater than any worldly gain. If it is His will, whether to life or death, we must always trust that God will use us where we can achieve His Greatest Good. For any who would follow The Way, there can be no greater honor. I only pray, that when my end comes, that I may die with half the dignity that was in the eyes of the martyrs, for their blood is the seed of God's Church.

It seems that as the people of Braen have refused God, they have also refused his blessings, consigning themselves ever deeper into sin... Unfortunately, Sakura is probably about to find out that her choice at the trial will have far-reaching consequences, particularly if it is found out that Aki and her father have also harbored sympathetic attitudes towards Christianity... I also can't help but wonder if Sakura acted as she did at the trial in order to get some sort of petty vengeance on Josh for the fact that he loves Lydia, and not her. As far as the methods used in the trial, whatever doctrine the court system now goes by seems to be sprouted from some unholy conflation of Orwell, Huxley, Putin, and, for some reason, ISIS. If this is the future we have to look forward to, may Jesus return soon...

Well, goodness. This seems about to get even more interesting. General Carmack shall no doubt have some very choice words for young Joshua when he learns of his son's not-so-happy reunion with young Lydia. I wonder what cockamamie kangaroo court the Government will cook up for her trial. Probably some mix of Orwell, Huxley, and a Russian military tribunal. A wonderful story as always, Miss Rose. I eagerly await the release of the next chapter, in God's good timing and under the sage counsel and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Lord bless and keep you. Sincerely,
-GhostsOfComradesPast.

Well, that escalated quickly. Still, it's refreshing to see that she had the good sense to turn herself in when the troops came looking for her, rather than them taking her out of the apartment and thus implicating everyone else. Nice to see Christian characters portrayed acting with some measure of pragmatism, and having more self-preservation instinct than a streetlight (LaHaye and Jenkins). I look forward to seeing how this one wraps up, and to seeing the future installments in the 2034 series.

I realize I am maybe coming in a little late in the game, but this is one of, if not the most compelling story about the End Times that I have read. You have been blessed with a great gift. I started reading this at 0100 with the thought to read a few chapters, I've now found myself at the last posted chapter at about 0700. I am glad that you were led to write this, and hope to delve into your other work shortly. Remain strong in your Faith, and I am sure that God will reward you greatly in His timing and according to His will.

A few things -
1. It says somewhere in the Old Testament to pray for forgiveness if you're so much as exposed to profanity - much less use it. I don't know the verse off the top of my head, and I can't find it searching on the internet, so I'll have to read all the books of Law again to find it. Still, you're very liberal with it - perhaps just asterisks, from now on?
2. Christians are supposed to concentrate on what's pure and wholesome, and this is ... not. You're concentrating heavily on the grimmer aspects, and while we're to be wary as serpents, we don't have to marinate in grimness and angst. You may want to start focusing more on any positives - such as General Kim being saved (as I assume he has been,) and on the others' struggle to reach Christ (such as Sakura,) and less on the darkness.

I must say, I feel as though the previous chapter wasn't very glorifying to Him - we are commanded to think on good things, not dark and evil - but this one is looking up.

Josh isn't a bad kid. I rather like him.
Sorry it's taken me so long to review - I've noticed a few spelling mistakes here and there, nothing that stood out terribly. Also at the beginning of this section, the sentences were a little short and choppy - could've used commas instead of periods. Other than that, the writing's pretty good. (
I also love the message of this story, it's very accurate and very touching. (
