This story was absolute torture!

As in it was torture to see Dash go through so much pain for almost the entirety of the story!

Honestly, I never ever found myself sympathizing a male character on fictionpress as much as I did for Dash. I am so happy that you wrote this entirely based on his point of view. You wrote him so well that I find myself audibly reacting when something bad happens to him. I feel his pain and his longing. And I understand a bit too well, his fear and his tendency to give in to the struggle. It becomes a bit hard to read because it feels too real.

That and that the story does shove a lot of bad things at you. It's frustrating but it's a frustrating that I understand because that's reality. Yet with that in mind, it becomes so rewarding when Dash finds a way to get around that and gets a clearer understanding of what he wants and how he should achieve it. I feel so much hope for him and I just love him so much. I really wanted to hug the poor guy out of sympathy.

I also love Juliet! I kind of don't understand why people don't like her. She is bright and optimistic but not in an overbearing way. And not just that, I love how she's not portrayed here as naïve and childlike in that she's very mature and can clearly stand-up for herself. I'm glad, even if it hurt, that she stood against Dash, even. Guaranteed it was running away, but she held her own against him. And she didn't give in until it was clesr that Dash came to a fulfilling realization and really fought for her.

Honestly, I placed this story on hold for a while as I thought the summary was interesting but I did not energy to read it yet. And now I came back and I just really love this story. What made it so great is with the characters and how likeable and relatable they are. I wish you can continue it because I felt like even if their interactions when they became friends were meaningful enough already. I still want their relationship explored. And just like Dash, I have hope for them.

So glad to see Dash on the upswing after being down for so long. It took acknowledging that he created a lot of his problems himself. I liked the touching scene with his mom. And he finally told Juliet everything! It was interesting to get her perspective, and what she revealed made sense. It's not surprising that what appealed to Dash could appeal to someone else too. Everything is coming together now!

I really like how you're having Dash contemplate his feelings and get to the root of his issues instead of just groveling like in so many stories. Harrison, on the other hand, is seriously messed up. I can't wait for him to be revealed for what he truly is.

I absolutely loved this story! It's beautiful, honestly :) I really hope you do a sequel or something because I need more of these two in my life haha

Very good ending, I really enjoyed this story and have even mentioned this as one of my favorites on my profile. I like your writing style and how you are able to describe actions perfectly. Your word choice is always spot on. I look forward to reading more of your stuff.

I like how you put in the family dynamic to show us where some of Dash's problems stem from. It makes your story well-rounded and more realistic. I also have to tell you that I like the subtlety of your writing. You include things in the story without hitting us over the head with them. Dash's father has a troubling personality without being over the top. The same with Harrison. These people are part of society, and they are people we have to deal with on a daily basis. The realism sets your stories apart.

I love the little things you include too, like Dash thinking that the school counselor looks like the kind of guy he used to pick on. We really get to know your main characters, and they are like real people with flaws. That enhances my enjoyment of a story and elevates it beyond mere romantic fantasy.

After I finish reading the story, I'd be curious to know your original plan for this story.

I think there's going to be more drama on Harrison's end. He'll try once again to mess up Dash and come in between them, but this time it won't work. Harrison is going to get caught for lying and messing with Juliet. She'll finally see it and go running to Dash. Or Dash will be there to protect her from Harrison's stupid plan.

OMG Harrison is so infuriating! I can't believe people out there consider others like this to be friends. More sadly that people like Harrison actually exist and people don't do anything or speak up. I hope Dash speaks up soon. Loving the story... Whipping through it, I'll be all caught up

I love this story! The anticipation and buildup, love it! This is what made me want to read your story in the first place. I'm glad I didn't find this story years ago when you stopped writing it, I would have been crushed.

Love this chapter. Can’t wait to read more. Can’t wait to see that smug smile off of Harrison’s face. Can’t express how much I hate him

I am very surprised by Juliet's confession, but now that I am thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense and explains how smoothly everything flowed between her and Dash that night. But oh man he screwed things up again! You've written it so well too because I can see everything from each of their perspectives. She viewed his slow processing of her reveal as judgement and got her feelings hurt again. I'm so caught up in this story and how they will resolve everything!

The rest of the scene between them was so cute and entertaining, and it was almost back to the way they were before. I also liked the interactions between Dash and his mom. They are so true to life. His behavior when he was alone also amused me, because it's a typical teenage boy. The realism you put in your stories adds to their appeal. I like that they feel like they can really happen. Your characters are easy to relate to.
