After rereading these last two chapters I have some super random questions. Where is Flor's birth certificate? Doesn't one need a birth certificate to enroll in school? Was she born in the U.S. or Portugal? Will she be going to the doctor and dentist for the first time ever? Is she going to get her license?

I was beginning to miss this haha. This chapter makes up for it. Flor's reaction is realistic, I'm glad she doesn't just follow blindly, even if it is Lucas who is hard to resist ;-)

She is obviously a shifter or at least half-shifter. I grow more and more curious about her background. I think she is a feline-shifter, but not a puma. I actually was Googling large cat species native to Portugal. I am sorry to hear you were sick and I hope you are feeling better now. Are you going to post this entire story on FictionPress and Wattpad before getting it published? I hope you do, but even if you don't I will buy a copy as long as it is available for Nooks or as a paperback.

Yay! You're back... I was wondering if maybe since the month of November had come to an end that you would stop posting. I'm glad that's not the case but I am sorry you were sick. Hopefully you're feeling better.

On to the chapter. Innnnteeeresting. I find it interesting that you are choosing to keep Flor in the dark a little bit longer. I think that her experience of the day without an explanation for all of it would leave her feeling similar to how a rape survivor feels, no? Powerless, violated, de-humanized. I know this is a YA story but what age-group are you thinking of as your key audience? If it's the older teens then it would be cool to explore those feelings a bit. It will make the story darker but also rich and layered, no? Flor would definitely become a bit of haunted heroine, between this and coming to terms with all the things her uncle's death left for her. If it's meant for young teens then that might be too heavy, though.

I liked the dynamic between Lucas and his father, it's very interesting that the alpha was able to accept such harsh criticism from a subordinate. You showed just a brief enough encounter that it left me wondering if Lucas was able to get away with saying those things because he's his son or if it's because he's that type of man - recognizes the truth when told it. I'm excited to find out. Also, I get the sense that Lucas's mother was also a shiftless stray. I hope that this makes them somehow different? Like, it makes them even more sup among all the sups. Though it sounds like Flor is pretty damn special all on her own. I'm guessing that her heritage and who she is (or more likely... who felt threatened by her birth/ innate power) will be the main storyline of book 2 - nice set up!

This chapter is so sweet and cute! The whole scene with Cameron and Flor is adorable, and I'm glad she had a great birthday. First befriending the cougar, and now making a human friend. It was truly a wonderful day for her, and I'm glad she got to have that before all the trouble started. I'm very impatient to find out what her uncle wants to tell her, and you're doing a good job of building up to it.
