Ah, a classic Miles. Been a while since I read one of these.
Man, six hundred bucks is a lot for a starter kit. Rich kids' game, I guess.
The beginning was kinda cheesy and the pacing was a bit too fast, but I expect nothing less from a Miles story. And that's a good thing. This has all the makings of a classic childhood card game shounen.

Aww, i actually enjoyed this first chapter! It was cute and it had action in it! Never knew reading about card masters could be entertaining but alas, here it is! Though Max was being ungrateful for his age, I'm glad he got Cardrian starter anyway! Nice start!

Hmm, glad to see the story moving along at a brisk pace. Though I wouldn't mind a little more detail in the fight scenes, just some to flesh it out. You had a good amount of detail when describing the girl, short so it wouldn't get over baring, but enough to have a decent picture of her for the readers.
