Somehow this piece reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's "What doesn't kill you" - it kind of conveys the same feeling to me. The words and sentences are simple, but the message is powerful. We are prisoners only so long as we let ourselves be conquered.

This is so beautiful. It is a real message for girls everywhere; never let someone push you around just because you think you love them, and you think they love you.
I have a friend who is in a situation a bit like this, exept it's with an abusive father. I wish I could show this to her, because she is so willing to let him do what he does to her and her brother because she doesn't want tp hurt him. This is such a strong, meaningful story. We have to learn to look past false love, because it just isn't worth it. Not everything is a mistake. When someone misuses your love in that way, it isn't love anyone.
