This was beautifully written. I could not help but sympathise with the main character's sense of abandonment by her best friend. I secretly hoped for a positive shift in the story where she learns to accept that people move on and release herself from her dependence on her old friend's approval but the consistent tone was rather refreshing to read. Your choice of words was excellent and your ability to create an atmosphere created an engaging story.
