She doesn't know the magic of Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth's voices.
I keep wishing this was set in the 40s with Nikki as a time traveler visiting her dead ancestors because they hold the key to some modern mystery. Lol. That's the sci-fi/fantasy geek in me.

And so it begins with the only ever invite to one of JG's infamous parties! Gosh, I'm seeing Leo and the opulence of the 1920s. It is a gorgeous vision so I do not mind. _

Wishing you a speedy recovery where the block is concerned. This chapter was a bit of a filler, or it felt that way because it lacked detail in places and lost impact when I think of the source material. What I did like: The modern updates to where she works, the homophobia while sleeping with a queer man, the changes in speculation to who G might be! All of that stuff hit the mark.

No way! She is Nick Carraway! Have we just had dinner with Danny and Tara Buchanan?! Mind blown. This is a book my ex suggested I read, and I did, and then I saw the movie and I was floored once again by the depth of the characters. Man, I hope this doesn't end up as horribly sad as that one! The green light is what did it for me! I freaked out, inside my mind - it's entirely too late for anything else. Wow, I'm pumped for this. I want to see what you do with it once the initial introductions are made. Oh, Joe is Jordan, yes?

Nice of you to take time away from teaching your students how to get away with murder and write this story. _ I thoroughly enjoyed this beginning and I was looking for a VERY romantic story. I hope it will be realistic and make me laugh as well. So far it's got a bit of that going on and I see more in its future.
