It's an interesting premise, but the narrative leaves a lot to be desired. One big, big thing is show, don't tell. Readers generally don't like paragraphs of infodump. Find a way to work a description of the characters and their powers into the narrative, through actions or dialogue. Tense changes don't help smooth out the narrative either.
