I was wondering if his brother left him on purpose too. I mean to take all the equipment and supplies with him just to get some water just seems odd, but I may just be being a bit cynical...

Somehow Calix really grew on me. I mean it wasn't like I didn't like him in the beginning. I did, really. I liked that he didn't hid himself. The normal person would have been more humble about everything and had the mind to show more gratefulness towards Wyatt and let the Alpha just do what he wants since it is his home and he did rescue Calix and gave him a warm place and fed him... But I always thought Wyatt a bit too Alpha, and he wasn't that nice towards Calix in the beginning and I'm really sorry, but I do find him really, really unsexy... The lumberjack type just doesn't do it for me (sorry!) So I secretly cheered for every hard time Calix gave him. And I liked Calix own quirks (I really miss his watch, that was really mean of Wyatt )
And in the beginning I also didn't get, why Wyatt always thought of Calix as a brat, because I thought Wyatt just too hermit to be able to deal with a normal person. But then I suddenly got it. The time where Wyatt accused Calix to be a spoiled brat used to always get his way opened my eyes somewhat. Calix really does behave like a spoiled brat. And since I was able to see that, it did annoy me a bit.
But now it did turn back to liking Calix full force. Yeah so what, he might be spoiled but he isn't arrogant or a bitch (although bottoming for the Alpha does make him a kind of bitch... but you know what I want to say?) . Calix doesn't mean harm and he isn't really causing it, too, so I can't help but love this guy. I am really surprised that he didn't throw a bigger temper tantrum and he is indeed sooooooooo cute as he's saying goodbye to everything and then answering how many people already told him how cute he is *sigh* I want to cuddle him all day :)
So what I wanted to say with my rambling: In the beginning I read the story mostly because of Canuck, I'm totally a dog/wolf person and can't get enough of them. Then I wanted to know, when Calix and Wyatt would finally do the deed... Because I also love slash :D
But now I finally got it: Wyatt and Calix are one of these pairings of you - each one with it's own flaws making a real character out of them, but in a way that one could ask, if there is someone who could really live with that... and then comes you and put the two of them together and bang! they're perfect! At least for each other. I mean Wyatt totally needs the fuck annoyed out of him, that much was clear from the beginning. Always thought "yeah, serves you right for being such an Alpha meanie" But now I do completely see, that Calix does also need a Wyatt because he needs someone to able to not always let him get his way but gets weak when it is ok to. So they do balance each other.
Wow, you did it again. I'm such a sucker for your "only perfect for each other"-pairings. I am now officially your groupie, stalking your twitter every few hours and sucking up every word you write. You got me hooked (and I will now quit my rambling before I embarass myself even more :D)
