I must say, Calico, I really love this story! It is one of the best reads I have found on FictionPress. There is something to be said about the way you write, and the dynamics between these characters - it's all very compelling! You have a very simple style (not a bad thing!) and how you write has a certain flow that makes Alpha very enjoyable. One thing I'm truly fascinated with is the open-ended elements (such as Canuck's behavior, the mystery surrounding Dax) that are up for interpretation. Scrolling through some previous reviews, it's only made more obvious that each and every one of us readers has a slightly different experience with the story. I think it's because of the first person narrative... we, the readers, are putting ourselves in Calix's shoes, which makes for a unique experience. It's just starting to get HOT (holy Jesus is it ever) and I am dying for more. Thank you for working so hard and updating this story regularly! This isn't often the case on FP, so when an author can pump out quality content on a weekly (if not, twice a week) basis, it's a rare treat. Please keep it up! From, a long time reader, Sammi.

Hot fucking damn...seeing as my birthday was Feb. 19, I'd say this was the best birthday gift. Shit it totally going to get awkward now lol hangovers are never easy, but I have a feeling Calix is going to be in for some surprises when he wakes up! As always I love this story and need more of it!

Oh my goodness. That was so hot. So hot. I think I feel lightheaded! And the dyanamics make for a moral quandry - Wyatt did try not to, but ultimately he did take advantage. Much as Calix consented for most of the time, and particularly at the end, he's in a very vulnerable position and Wyatt is 'in a position of authority' - I would read this as dub-con, but it was definitely hot whatever it was!

P.S. On Chapter 9: I really DID think of Titanic when Calix was drawing Wyatt. I forgot to mention it because I'm a doofus. I forget many things when I review. Hah! Good luck convincing us that Wyatt Rose! Haha!

Have I mentioned that you have a smart and cool way of naming chapters. You seem to handle your conjunctions very well, Calico. I approve!
Okay, moving on to the usually rom-com-y Chapter 9.
We see much skinship in this chapter more than the last several ones combined; it really is a bonding-centric chapter. I dig it, especially the one with Canuck. There's some mystery regarding the Canuck Arc but I have yet to see some coherent storyline yet. Maybe it's just me, but color me interested. I suddenly missed my dog, y'know, back in my province. Here in the city, I can't take care of dogs because my apartment is so small. Sometimes, the nights get lonely. I've tried taking care of one or two dogs before but...
Anyways, I see that we are seeing Wyatt unravel now. It's a bit strange seeing their conversation regarding girls. I seem to forget that they are straight-seeming guys in the narrative and that they have dated girls before. Calix particularly surprised me. He SEEMED so feminine that I keep on forgetting he's a dude. And that in this chapter, the bonding couldn't be more bro-like. I find myself irked as the brother bonding mixes with the shipping feeling; I'm starting to feel dirty with the lack of romance lately, that I feel this would become a romance fiction later.
Confusion is developing in me now.
Anyways, good chapter, not the best in the bunch but insightful and light. The lack of romance is beginning to set my mind that they could be friends (maybe even brother-like) and I think this would be problem for me when the romance part sets in. I give this a 6.5! More!
