Serious relationship vibes coming my way from those two. They should just confess their love and let that be the end of it lol
I really enjoyed this chapter. It was a lot more laid back. The bickering at the beginning seemed natural at this point, which is why I'm getting relationship vibes. Aw, and all the fun they had when they were halfway drunk lol I can just picture big mountain man Wyatt playing around with Canuck. It was probably the cutest thing ever. And then Canuck getting all puppy dog cute with Calix, so adorable. I loved it.
Hurray to more nighttime cuddles! They were feeling real comfortable with each other, especially Calix with his need to touch Wyatt whenever he was in reach. I can't blame him. Never mind the vodka; I'd want to touch him all the time too.
They shared some really nice moments. Wyatt with his life lessons, both of them dissing Calix's douchey ex girlfriend, and then both of them bonding over Calix's artistic abilities and his mind. It was so nice.
So Wyatt admitted he didn't want to let Calix go. My heart exploded, I no longer have a heart. I just have tiny fragments floating around all with 'Wyatt & Calix 4 Ever' etched on them lol but seriously, I'm glad he said it. I'm glad both of them confessed how much they think about each other. This could be the start of something beautiful lol
Now about that smut...lol I'm definitely keeping my eye out for it. Great job on another great chapter! Can't wait for an update!

C: I'm not sure how to read that last part since you've gone past him caring, which is what I think that last part is referring to? Either way, I would heavily suggest reordering that part of the sentence.
- As for Calix himself, I'm glad to hear more of his backstory, more of both of their backstories, even!
- Poor Calix, starting to act like an abuse victim/ person who has Stockholm Syndrome...

And I hope to god that Dax didn't intentionally leave Calix out there on purpose, but I'm getting the feeling that he did. Now I think he did it on purpose so that he could be with this skank ass bitch who dumped Calix to be with Dax. UGH. I just want Wyatt and Calix to fall in love, but first and foremost get on with the smexy times already!

and given my love for brocest i wouldnt be opposed to Dax coming in and joining in too... buti highly doubt thats the plot idea... just my naughty wishes

oh my god I love this story so much! the dynamics you have between Calix, Wyatt and Canuck make this such an interesting read. I can't believe it's really only been two days together - but I think your pacing is perfect. If there's stockholm syndrome without actually being kidnapped Calix is totally having it. I am fascinated by this story, the relationships are so powerful, and I feel the alternate glows and blows that Callix feels depending on Wyatt's treatment.

Hmm...I'm getting mixed signals from Wyatt. He spends a fair amount of time giving Calix cuddles and being surprisingly sweet, but then the next evening, he's all harsh and standoffish. I'm quite confused. And why does Calix looking at his watch bug him so much? Is it because he's so removed from society that Calix still being connected to the outside world irritates him? Or does it remind him that one day Calix is going to leave?
I was wondering whether or not he wants Calix to go; he says Calix is a part of his pack after all. However, he talked about taking him to the radio tower pretty calmly. Maybe he was just having a moment? And then he's in a real bad mood when he gets back from looking for Dax with the backpack. I completely understand his dislike toward Dax; I mirror them. It's obvious he cares about Calix, even if it is as a puppy, which, again, makes me wonder if he wants Calix to leave. So having to look for this "douchebag" of a brother and then bringing back the backpack, maybe it forces him to face reality that Calix isn't there to stay and puts him in a foul mood? I have no idea, but the idea is nice.

Is it possible to ship Calix and Canuck? No? Hahaha!
Chapter 8's "Ups and Downs" is a good follow-up with the whole Dax Arc. Not so much character development here, aside for the growing attachment of Calix to Wyatt's approval and affection. It's official: Calix has become his bitch. Although, truth be told, I'm a bit irked with the skinship happening from time to time. Must be dependent on my mood though (and for this late evening I'm typing this, I am somewhat feeling off with the cuddling they do). Anyways on the Dax Arc, I'm liking the mystery now. I thought that maybe Dax is dead, and it was his bag that Wyatt found, but then with the progress I think something more sinister is happening with Calix's absentee brother.
Regarding Canuck, I felt bad for the wolf's punishment but I totally get Wyatt. I don't know much about wolf packs but then the revelation on Canuck's past is a great addition to the lore. Poor wolf left behind by the pack. Huhu. Thank God for Wyatt. On the shipping, I thought something significant would happen between the wolf and Calix; I thought Canuck would be challenging Wyatt's position again as alpha - especially with the way he stared at Calix. Oh! So interesting!
P.S. Liking the timestamps more and more, and I feel like this is a quiet but significant part of the narrative. Wyatt's dislike of Calix's watch seem to tell more feelings than the mountain man lets on.
I give this chapter a solid 8 of 10 for mystery and internal turmoil.
