Interesting. Oddly enough, I'm enjoying the slow burn. Update soon please! I am very much enjoying the city boy having to deal with rugged mountain man (and vice versa).

I always keep on forgetting to mention some things when I start a review so better late than never. Anyways, good for you, Calico, on the Canada setting. I find it difficult to write stories so close to home so kudos to you. And no, I wasn't sharpening my pitchfork; I'm not a Korean netizen (who tends to get crazy from time to time).
Anyways, moving on to the second chapter. As expected, we see much interaction between Wyatt and Calix, and the aggressive Canuck. It's nice being their characters expanded more, and your writing seem to improve as time passes on, Calico. I particularly like Dazed Calix; I find his serious thoughts funny. Like, really? You're bleeding and you're thinking trying out Wyatt's beard? Still, I'd do the same. Hahaha! It must be nice, having one, I'm more like a twink; it's annoying.
Of course, we get a little more light on the ax-killer-seeming Wyatt and turns out he's a lone wolf, like Canuck. I hope to see more.
Also, special mention to Calix's brother Dax, who I hope has not been eaten by the creatures of the Canadian Rockies. Seem crazy. And I thought the place was nice and cozy... and safe. D:
I rate this an 8.5/10 still for cozy conversations and beard-touching.

So, hello, it's 3:25AM in my place and I can't sleep yet so I decided to read some of this new series. Hahaha! I am NOT fond of forest stories or anything related to mountains and trekking (because I'm not athletic) but then you're one of my fave authors so I'm hanging on.
Moving on to the review!
It's a good first chapter, not strong like Power Trip and not too sentimental like Fifty-Fifty, and has this chill vibe to it, even if it started young Calix getting lost. It seems you have taken your time setting up the plot of this narrative, and it adds well. It's very well-written. Not tok tiring to the eyes but not too dragging either.
I like Calix's personality, grounded but not too heavy, essentially a very relatable, common person. But yeah, he's a doofus for leaving the spot where his brother was supposed to come back at. But hey, I believe he's not used to trekking, total noob, and noobies make mistakes. In this case, nearly fatal for him... if not for the timely arrival of Chris Pratt, sorry, er, Wyatt. Very manly name. I LOVE IT.
Where's the Chris, er, Wyatt Walker fan club? Sign me up. Hahaha! Like Calix, Wyatt seem to have this grounded personality, very realistic, but then strange. I have yet to see more interaction to make a proper judgment but the mains seem okay.
I give this chapter about 8.5/10 rating? Trying out this new rating system, by your leave of course, Calico. Haha! Because I talk too much sometimes.

Okay, first I want to apologize for being such an ungrateful lurker - I've been reading your fics for a long while but I just get irrationally nervous about reviewing stories (anyone's - not just yours!) urghhh *feels guilty*
I love your writing, and this fic is no exception - I'm excited to see what's to come! (I also have a thing for mountain men hahahaha *gets shot*) [I wonder where Calix's bro went, too...hmmm...]
Anyway, I always get excited when you write something new - it's always great, no matter what.

I'm really loving this so far! The part where the main character feels Wyatt's beard was so cute and really well-written! I'm hoping for a quick update, but as always I'm also looking forward to reading more of Gavin's Story :-)

Please keep them coming. I'm secretly reading them at work and I'm on the edge of my seat dying to know what happens next. I love where this story is going!
