Athena's feelings were very well portrayed. Uh-huh, now they're alone there-or just HE is... Awww, Elijah's mourning of Shuler and his sense of guilt were heartbreaking. I liked the background on him. You are a very talented writer. I hope Elijah will be OK. And I hope Shuler is alive-he must be... Interested to know what those aliens want from Elijah.

Nice to see Shuler and Elijah bonding. Their banter is funny. Athena's concerns were well described. I hope Shuler will be okay. Him getting shot was unexpected. I wonder what beings are those. Looking forward to reading more.

Really exciting chapter with an interesting exploration of Shuler/Elijah dynamic. The way you described Shuler trying to get out of the river was pretty intense. You are a very talented writer. Good to learn more about Shuler's background and abilities. I wonder what those creatures are? Elijah's comment about saving Shuler's "sorry ass" was pretty funny. I actually didn't expect him to come down and go looking for him! Looking forward to reading more.
