What a fantastically dramatic chapter! Gripping from start to finish with an exciting ensemble of Alliance characters doling out some hurt to the soup-ed up baddies of the Guild! Alex was truly in his element. Lol. Everyone was holding their own pretty good and I'm glad Narayan was there to make sure Sanders came through alright too.
And what an intro for Scorpion/The Master. Clint's flashback sequence was cleverly revealing and the way it mirrored The Master's assassination attempt on Anna was brilliant. Who would have thought that by trying to take Hawke's Mate from him that The Master would inadvertently seal the deal? That was poetic justice there for sure. ;)
So many pieces of the puzzle seemed to become known, if not entirely clear yet, to the Alliance. Connections are being realized but before all of that can be digested the story is once again rooted in Nadia's dire fate and the impact now afflicting Pan. Nicely done. There was a gamut of character issues in this chapter that unfolded masterfully through the ensuing events. From the father/daughter woes of Clint and Anna to the overwhelming dread of Nadia's condition that totally unhinged Pan, this chapter packed a wallop.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all of them will be okay, but what is Anna's father doing there? And what will happen when Pan finds out about Nadia? I'm holding my breath waiting for answers, but I have to say this chapter was mind blowing with Wade trapped like that.

Awesome chapter!
That was an engrossing recollection from Wade's perspective of the daring rescue atop the Jefferson Tower. The action was intense and nonstop. The mooring line neutralized Hawke and Sanders' escape in dramatic fashion. Having such a formidable beast like Wade's dragon tethered helplessly, although still very much dangerous to foes, was a very clever twist that ratcheted up the suspense and tension of the battle. And that juiced-up Lychan really had me concerned for a bit. Makes me wonder if the Guild has been toying with genetic alterations or super soldier serums. Either one would mean even more trouble for the Alliance.
And the gathering of Alliance forces in the forest for a major throw-down between sides worked out brilliantly with those collected at the manor for Nadia. No doubt the Alliance members will be fighting with a little more grit and fuel for their enmity against the Guild. And just wait until Pan is enlightened as to what has transpired in his absence. ;)
Another great chapter and the end was a shocker! It seems ole Clint has been keeping close tabs on all the recent goings on. With him on the scene and discussions of Matehood pending, there's plenty at stake with the coming confrontation. The anxious feel of a big build up to a potentially dire situation was conveyed masterfully through Hawke's addled concern and assessment. This was a thrilling chapter and one that leaves me on the edge of my seat!

What a fun and exciting chapter!
The foursome pulled off the mission in riveting fashion. I especially enjoyed the witty banter between characters, most notably anytime Sanders was involved. Lol. And the muppet call signs were hilarious too.
The breach of Jefferson Tower was seductive thanks to Anna's award winning role as a glossy vixen, and daring thanks to Hawke and Sanders' improvised bravado. The elevator shaft segment was thrilling, as was the hasty escape to the roof. And of course the show stopper was Wade's sonic appearance in the skyline to ensure a successful retreat. An emerald dragon hovering above the tower, dispatching baddies was just stunning.
Hints of how broad the Scorpion's pincers reach are should be more than enough to unsettle Hawke and the others, but for now regrouping and delivering the freshly scored Gild intel is priority one I'm sure. Unless of course a discussion of Mate-hood takes front and center. ;)

The lighthearted tones generated by the interactions with the kids was balanced out nicely with Nadia's deteriorating condition. Her situation definitely seems grim, but not as grim as Nicholas' once Alaric catches up to him. ;) Alaric's rank among this diverse and powerful cast of characters was nicely reiterated too through the brief recap of his past and his radiating power. And the intrigue surrounding the children's fates grows along with them.
Uncle Alex was as fun as always. Lol. And poor Nadia. Not only does she have to suffer the pain of her condition and the guilt of being duped, but she also feels Pan's expected disappointment weighing heavily on her as well. I suspect Nicholas will be public enemy number one when news of his betrayal spreads throughout the Alliance.
