Another fantastic chapter!
I must say that the description of the grimy motel was more than enough to make one cringe in disgust. Lol. And your colorful way with expressions and imagery were superb once again in creating some witty and fun scenarios.
Pan really did seem like the odd man out in this new motley crew thrown together by mutual circumstances. And you have to admire Sanders' ability to roll with the punches while holding his own. Underneath his wry exterior I detect a very focused and calculating individual, and right now that's what this mission and group needs.
As to Anna and Hawke, it's fun to watch them both grapple with the same inner feelings and fears. Who will come forth and confess first? She's able to go toe-to-toe with Hawke on virtually any intellectual level, and her sometimes fiery disposition does indeed push his buttons like only a Mate could. ;) Loved the Stepford wives reference too. ;)
Going forward, this rag tag group had better hipe their collective skills and abilities are enough to compensate for their lack of cohesiveness. Lol. I think when the chips are down though they may find that their chosen professions tip the scales in their favor with combined experience against the Guild's muscle.
This was a very witty and fun chapter filled with your trademark knack for clever and entertaining banter. And that was one hot shower too. Another of your masterful trademarks. ;) Great as always!

Loved this chapter. Finally Anna's ready to tell Hawke her feelings. Somehow though I feel like there's going to be another obstacle in the way. Can't wait for more. Great writing. :)

This was a fantastically revealing chapter with enough tension and drama to keep the entire exchange between the trio heightened with anticipation for the turn out. It seems ole Clint knows much more than he's let on, though in his business information is the key to survival and protection so it doesn't concern me too much. Although the mention of him seeing Hawke's sire does raise an eyebrow.
The three-way tension between Hawke, Anna, and Sanders was brilliantly illustrated as each revealing bit flared either Hawke's jealousy/rage or Anna's temper. Poor Sanders bore the brunt of both, but he took it like a Lychan. ;) And the description of him as he came into view at the rendezvous was a magnificent piece of writing. Loved the crowbar remark too.
And with Pan's arrival they all four seem to be set as a motley crew of sorts to march on to the Jefferson Tower. I'm sure mistrust will abound, and even more disconcerting is the fact that Pan's part in all this was leaked. That reveals some pretty alarming resourcefulness on the Guild's part.
Great chapter! A lot of story pieces fell into place here for the main cast, but there are still some heavy issues to be worked out. Particularly the matter of Mates. ;)

What an exciting and totally captivating chapter!
Ever since his introduction in this tale I've liked Big Bob. He's the colorful kinda baddie with enough dark charisma and mystery to really make him interesting. The exchange between him and Anna was very revealing, and served to deepen the plot further, revealing unnerving roots all the way to Mephistopheles. That bit of insight was telling of Scorpion's rank in the grand scheme as well. Excellent way to add yet another compelling layer to this masterfully intricate series.
Evie's demise was poetically poignant and carried a true sense of humanity with it. Her death served as a cold reminder of how ruthless the cartel is, while also keeping things grounded in an all-too-real scenario that bad choices can lead to. That really was a gripping piece of writing.
And speaking of writing, the showdown at the Iron Pit was fantastically portrayed. From the bloody, bone-crunching visuals to the arrogance and cocky moods. It was all just splendid writing and a total blast! Hawke's plan was a brazen act of bravado and Pan's boyish stature was the perfect ploy to rile up the Lychans enough to let their animal sides trump poise and focus to their own foil. Nicely done.
The last line is a brilliant cliffy with a foreboding tone too. It was as compelling as this whole chapter. As always, phenomenal storytelling and such fun writing. :)

What a great chapter, full of excitement and drama. Loved the fight between Pan and Tanner and I really thought Anna was a goner there for awhile. Can't wait for more.

Love the interplay between Hawke and Anna. Now he only needs to find some blood to replenish his body. Will he use Anna's blood? I'll find out next chapter maybe. Great writing. - Shelley

A very tense and suspenseful chapter with just the right amount of wickedness. Well done.
As soon as Nicholas entered the kitchen an uneasy wave of distrusting anxiety swept over me as I continued to read. He was very poised and smooth in is deception, almost to the point of being creepy but with just enough feigned concern to seem genuine. And what a fortuitous set of circumstances at the manor. Everyone except the two he could dupe were otherwise occupied. He definitely employed his full bag of tricks to get what he wanted, but now his cloak has been removed. No doubt he's just moved to the top of the Alliance's most wanted list with this deceiving little stunt. I just have to wonder now how much more formidable the potion will make Nicholas as an adversary. And who will get to him first? After what he's done to Nadia, and tried to do, I'm sure Pan will be seething and eager to be first in line. ;)
Great chapter! Nicholas is finally coming unhinged and it's marvelously dramatic. Could it have been The Master who divulged the potion spell within the grimoire? I can't wait to see how all this turns out!

Poor Megan. At least now Nicholas is showing his true colours. It's my guess that he's teamed up with his sire, The Master. I wonder how long it will take them to figure it out? Great chapter. Can't wait for an up-date.
