Sorry, that's one of my pet peeves, protag. seems like a masochist for falling for their bully when said bully either never changed or they still bully them. Not in this one. Love that they reconciled, Barrett has showed he's changed for the better, etc. I don't think you should tone down Val's behavior, I like her and how she interacts with Gabe. To me, it makes sense. Keep at it!

I really enjoy reading Gabriel's and Val's relationship I think you do a good job at conveying that "best friend" sort of thing you were talking about. It's funny and supportive and cool to read. Continue with the good work!

I think Vals interactions with Gabriel are spot on! They remind me of my friends in some ways. This chapter felt like the turning point of the story I can't way to see how the situation is delt with!

I'm really enjoying your story so far. The characters are interesting and I'm waiting impatiently for Gabriel and Barrett's relationship to develop romantically, haha. I'd also love to hear more about the twins as well. Can't wait to read your next update!

First, hello there Class of '17. I feel like I want to have a whole major conversation about that, BUT I digress. I love this story. I love this story so very, very much. I'm a sucker for a good high school romance, and this is like that with a very welcome twist. I love your writing style. I love the characters even more, I'm super excited to see where this goes.

I like where you are going with this. ...And thank you for the shout-out last chapter.
Have to admit that it feels like Barrett is going to reveal in the future that he was attracted to Gabriel when he saw our protagonist in the high school after all those years. And I may be projecting a little wishful thinking when I say this, but I also think that maybe Barrett had taken out his frustrations upon Gabriel back then because of a little bit of attraction as well... like maybe he was trying to put down his problems about himself by beating up the subject behind them, or something.
Anyways, liked the chapter. The only thing I have to say about it is that in the latter half of the chapter you started off a paragraph with "A cleared my throat and moved my gaze away for a second, embarrassed". Suggest you replace the "A" with an "I". The sentence will make a little more sense then. Don't think I noticed anything else with a glance.
Hope you keep up the good work. Thank you.
P.S. - I would love it if we got to know a little more about the other brothers as well. Definitely want to hear their take on Barrett and a few of the stories that go with it.

I'm a little confused on how we're meant to perceive the characters. From what I gather, Baretts meant to a good dude now, but honestly he still comes across as a jerk. He's acting highly sensitive and expecting the other guy to apologise multiple times after bullying him hard for so long? He seems to be playing the victim insincerely, but I don't think we're meant to think negative of him so there's a clash.

The last chapter was really nice, I felt that it was some kind of bridge from one concept of a relationship to another, if up until now they were clearly still enemies- after this chapter they are officialy ex-enemies. I'll be waiting to see what will follow :)
