Oh this just bleeds character. So evocative and a great great character voice the whole way through. A silky smooth read that you just blaze through and leave wanting so much more. I would read a whole book of Death's adventures if they're like this. Bravo.

The voice is incredible in this entry, and the sheer depth of description is excellent. Though definitely on the longer side compared to the rest of the stories, none of the words seemed to be fluff or wasted. The dialogue is something of a marvel, I could swear this was a screenplay for a blockbuster at certain points.

The first line of the second paragraph made me laugh and say 'Yesssssss' aloud. It reads like Firefly and I so hoped the tone would persist through the piece. And then I realise it's another of your Death pieces, and I like that too. Women, rogues, sassy banter - what's not to like?
Another laugh aloud moment, 'he's got a thing for cats'. Outrageous even for an outrageous story. More laugh aloud moments followed.
This did not read like a 6000 word story, even though you did warn us that you'd gone waaaaay overboard. It was a pretty quick read, actually. Pacing was fast, characters likeable. My favourite character has to be Panther. He's the victim in all this, but damn if he isn't suave and scary as hell.
The story *tied* up nicely in the end. :)
