This could totally be about deforestation, but it could also be taken in to be a metaphor for a persona. My favourite line is ‘now she is ponds and puddles’—I think it’s a cutely sounding alliteration with a sad meaning. Great work.

An important topic to explore and discuss. I like the length you chose. Short, but the ideas and issue are well represented. It's easy to read. Each stanza moves the reader forward nicely. The last line is great.
"and only when the last bough breaks will the people learn" A sad thought. I do hope we improve our relationship to the earth soon.
