[Of a sudden] - Think you mean 'all of a sudden'.
Having your story start with the main character waking up to find out it's all a dream is terribly generic and boring of an opener. Start at a more interesting point, something that gets the plot going, at least for your characters. Ask yourself, is this opening different from hundreds of its like? What am I trying to tell with this opening, other than that it's yet another day?
