I am on the minority but I am team Mickey! Doherty seems extra dodgy because he seems less compromised therefore could chose to be better and because he doesn't he is so much worse than Mickey Flynn, imho

Thanks for the update! I sure hope that Mary doesn't do anything stupid in the next few upcoming chapters. I do not want her to betray Micky, and the family.

It's funny. You are not feminist (or at least not writing about feminist heroine. And yet your main female charecters are driving, drinking, and having sex out of wedding- Ruth even has short hair, fashion that had started because (at the time) it made to make woman look more like mans. I know this is not your style and probably not how you'll write out your story, but I can totally see Mary of all people taking control on the buisness and becoming sort of the boss. Too bad you'll probably make her end up with Micky, she deserved someone better than him and it would be really cool to see her overcome him.
The fact that she sold him out is great for the plot, and we all fear for his reaction. Also, where is Danny? He already knows that Micky is paying his debts, he probably hears from his "friends" that Micky and Mary had sex, so where is his reaction? I kindda want to see him as well get punished for his action.
