Rhyming makes this piece more impactful. What I loved is that for me the punctuation invited me to pause and think of how I relate, where I can improve in my communication, and how to listen. In my head when reading a second time I took out the romantic parts and put a mother's perspective on loving a son, which can look similar maybe. This poem is great.
