A good chapter where Shotaro has to use his mind to get out of a test to save his sister. I wonder if it might teach him to be a little less reckless and respect Akira a little more later on.
As for Balmung, the little backstory of Kyoko and Kentaro showed how much of a danger he is.

This is a nice chapter where Akira looks like he went with Shotaro and ended up in a mess. As for the Shattered, it seems that they are a lot of mysteries about those beings and why it looked like humans.
As for Tsubaki, I wonder why Balmung wanted her and for what purpose.

Ah cool a update, lets see what we got here.
Firstly Akira's still swiftly getting business done, in a horrifyingly efficient manner, that poor child.
Meanwhile Balmung and Kentaro's duel is getting rather intense, and that was before Kyoko joined the clash. She showed off quite well how skilled she is when things are on the line, but the heat's on even more when Shotaro joined in, dude knows how to put on the pressure all right.
May have put a little TO much pressure with being callous on Kyoko but at least that did not end tragically.
Top of that, Tsubaki looks like she's in a bind to, hope she will come out ok.
Well, Balmung and Shotaro seem to reach a grim understanding before the pain train comes, but looks down but not out, and as they say a wounded animal is the most dangerous kind.
Eager to see how things go from hear, keep up the great work and till next time.

This is a nice chapter with a quick explanation in the change in the life of Shotaro and a little bit of world building put into it between the Shattered and the Black Smile.
As for Kentaro, he is mysterious as we know little of him but only that he wants to avenge those who died for his own reason.

This is an interesting start to the story as it shows what it will be about and a little bit of the danger in the city.
As for Shotaro, there is little detail about him telling us that he isn't a bad person and neither a goody two-shoes. He has to join the Black Smile because it was his only option, just as Akira expected.

Seems Shotaro is already forming quite the profile. Well, as long as its for his new comrades to help him and not hurt him, though his " allies" still seem to be hiding things.
Damn, Shotaro's trying to get on like its business as usual but its clear all the shattering stuff has him shook deep, hope he can rebound from the dread.
Well, still has enough nerve to not let more Shattering's tell him who's boss so that's good.
Well, he won the battle but if Balmung has his way with Tsubaki then he might win the war. Hope he does not mess her up as much as Hazama messed up that Tsubaki in Blazblue.
We will see, till then another fun chapter, keep up the good work and till next time.

So we have human Shattered as well? Almost reminds me of the Vizards and Espada from Bleach but we will see, seems like Shotaro is caught up in a war now, a bloody war as seen from the start.
Shotaro is quickly getting his skills refined by his new comrades, we will see if it makes a difference soon it seems.
Damn, quite soon as this Lord Balmung does not mess around. Well, Shotaro is still not ready for the big leagues but thankfully Balmung is not so tough that he can just fight endlessly, hopefully he can survive enough to get to that rematch, and that this Kentaro won't try and kill him first lol.

Shotaro Minami seems like a tough dude, enough to hang with Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho or hang out in those Yazkuza games lol.
Still, seems like this puts him at odds with his family, that always leads to juicy drama so should be fun.
Things went from a nice family moment to a clash with a demon, but got to think fast to keep alive.
Well, Shotaro tried his hardiest but nearly seemed like he did not pull it off, till suddenly he got transformed or something as he took down the Shattered. Not sure if this ominous group Black Smile helped him or just reacted to his own secret power unlocking but, seems intriguing.
Well, a powerful start so nice one, eager to see more so keep up the great work and till next time.

It was an enjoyable introduction with a plenty of plot and action already. Shotaro might be OP in the human world but when fighting against Shattered, it will be balanced I guess. The curiosity that made him investigate the incidents has probably some sort of reason too.
Now, the shattered being a mystery being with a red blood. A former human or something? Black Smile is kinda a weird name, along with the shattered so I'm guessing that they might have some secret that most supernatural story has. Since this is supernatural, Shotaro might acquire some power later on too. I'm looking forward to that.
The narration, is kinda my problem here though. It was lacking the "urgency" I think. The sudden inserts of thoughts, dialogues, in the scenes "where you wouldn't expect them" didn't appear. And all was done in a simple narration. Well, it still had the urgency that I'm talking about but, not that much. The narration in the actions were all done in the same way.
Anyway, that's just my writing style but I do think that it is necessary. The chapter is good, and I will read the rest sometime.
