Wow... just, wow. I can't believe I didn't get to read this one year ago. Your writing has really evolved a lot, and I mean it in a good way - your stories still are magical, they pull the readers (in this case, me) in and immersing in your world - one that Lacey West created. The way you portrayed the loneliness of the creative process is harrowingly real, coupled with the challenges and also Lacey's focus and struggle, made a very powerful story. I have difficulty distinguishing between what is real and what is not, and I think this is exactly what Lacey went through, and lived to tell in her work eventually.

Again, very brilliantly written.

Also, I noticed from your bio that you are going to law school, against your better judgment. First off, congratulations on getting in; second, enjoy it while you still can; third, you will probably end up hating it, and it is okay. Speaking from experience here, and while in the system where I am at I did law as an undergrad, it is an experience that I both loved and hated and regretted bits of it, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Good luck. And don't ever stop writing, dear.
