I guess you eat so much and you get a gender, at least when your a Outsider.
The Outsider is starting to" Level up" to much for mere mortals to handle...this is about to get rather nasty it seems, should be a wild, bloody ride.

We start with a story that's giving me a lot of vibes of stuff like the Thing, not sure if that's your intent or not but we will see what trouble this blob will cause, clear greed is going to be a factor one way or another.
Nice way to kick things off, I hope Miguel can get through this alive.

I like the idea of a story told through research logs. It's one we mostly see with psychological horror and case files in noir, less so with other genres. Okay, a few thoughts: Whatever this setting is, they use a blend of Imperial and metric units. For consistency, maybe it's better to go with one. The term 'unnatural' may be a little out of normal research context, unless it is your narrator editorializing a bit. Normally, a scientist's job is to uncover nature and its limits. Perhaps another term, like 'otherworldly' or 'extraterrestrial' might work instead. There is a lack of creative flourishes that might help make the creature's feeding more grotesque. Totally getting The Thing vibes.
