Pleasant flowing poem. What a nice owl.

Nice, i think. It is nice, flows nicely and has a beat to it, but does it refer to something besides the owl? I was always taught (and forgive me for that norrwo-mindess) that poems are full of similies, metaphors and (this a big one) symbolism. I can't find the symbolism in yours, not a lot of figurative language either. Although it has a rhyme scheme (or so) and I must congragulate you because i rarely accomplish that. But, if you think that a poem is good if it has rhymes then I am not sure if you know what you are doing.
The idea behind your poem is simple, you just describe a way of life of a night bird. I personally think that owls are interesting animals, certainly different that usual. But I can be biased (all that harry potter fanatism I have). What your poem has of figurative language is that you personafies the owl into a "He". It is almost as if you were writing about a person. That's very cute.
