I can't believe you're ending it there! I'm very much anticipating the next chapter now.
Your descriptions of the characters and places are very well done and makes the story easy to visualize. Not to mention that Rae is a great heroine-I really like her attitude.

It seems that none has read this yet, but I know I have before when you sent it to me for my honest opinion ::glares at her cat that is making it impossible to type::
I still feel the same Rae appears to be a character all her own, one that will prove {I hope} to be different than most others.. she has a hardness about her, a I don't wanna say coldness but I did get that impression but then things in the past can really have a factor in such things..
