Just In
for The Longing of My Soul

It was another great prose. You really poor out your feelings when you write. This was another very fine piece.

the only thing i would change is to leave out the rhyming of the "forever" and "never"...if you begin in free verse, it works better if you stay...

ooooh...i like it. i'm loving this concept. it has a depressing atomospher (which i love) yet i can sense just a bit of anger...or maybe it's hopelessness in the fact that the earth will never be the same. great job!

I'm always gentle and thanks for all your reviews! The poem sort of depressing but it is a very good piece and your words flow! K/Writing and Who am I? Hint! How is water measured? I think you should get it now...

OK, I actually read this poem over a week ago and loved it & wrote a review, but lost the connection before sending it...sigh...

I think I understand your feelings in this poem. I live in the Appalachian Mountains, and I often wonder what it would be like to see the mountains without having to blot out the pollution and clear-cut scars. One of my sixth grade teachers once said that flights of passenger pigeons used to cover the sky for an hour at a time. I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to live in a world like that.

Have you ever been to the rock beaches of New England? You should try and go sometime. The air there breathes poetry. It has to – nothing on earth can really tame an ocean.

I just wanted you to know that I “feel your pain.” Great stuff! I especially like the last line: “Unsatisfied with the life I have not lived” – nice paradox. Keep up the good work!

I feel that, sometimes, when I lean out over a great height and look down on a canopy of trees, and feel this unutterable longing to fly, and I want to so bad that I feel like throwing myself off and spreading my wings. I think the only thing that keeps people like us from insanity is the fantasy books. They give us an alternative. Have you ever read the prologue for the one-volume version of the Lord of the Rings? The one who wrote the note was living back in like the 1970's, and he said that the world was so corrupted that stories like that were the only refuge.
