Great point! Don't know what else to say, but really, really, good job! Kind of reminds me of a song by the same name by Michael W. Smith...
Jack Sparrow is a good person to imitate!

The details!I love the simple yet elegant proof of the relevence of each intricate sign! They are so original and beautifully phrased that I can feel each moment and the smile reforming the contour of my face.
I think this would be great with a little more organization along one central spine-I see you are capable of this from your ability to group related words and simplify phrases.I think a stronger climactic "moment" can be created, especially with a look at punctuation and connecting multiple sentences;but many should still stay simple and detatched-that is part of the appeal of this essay.
Be careful, especially in the beginning, with being too wordy with adjectives, although they are well placed, i realized a lot of them came in twos.Although this can be effective in some places, make sure that it is the best way to describe a feeling.
It sounded a bit preachy, and I think the reason why was because "you" was used a lot.Is there a way to reveal the same thought, showing the same opinion, yet using people in general as the subject? That might be more effective in affecting people more deeply, and creating an intimate revelation.
I love your theme and imagery, and hope that my suggestions help-this essay has enormous quality and potential-I think, if you haven't looked at it for some time-do, and see what changes time might bring.
Wow-that was long-my review feature hasn't been working for months, and this is the first i've written for a while.well, you might see more of them...bum bum bum bum...and good luck with getting your novel published-I haven't looked around at much of your other works, but have you posted any of it here?I would love to read some!

Wow! This is an amazing essay from an amazing writer. To be quite honest, it gave me the warm fuzzies.
One of my dreams is to be a writer. I'm not the best or anything, but if I could write stuff half as good as this I would consider myself blessed.
Good luck with that novel!

Hello, this is only my second review here on Fiction Press, as I am not very opinionated and rather bad at criticism... but at any rate, I randomly found your page. Let me start by saying, wow, you have written so many pieces! I just randomly clicked on one that seemed appealing. Hopefully you won't mind. I really enjoyed this particular piece: the imagery is beautiful and I think you have a wonderful philosophy. It reminds me of that quote from the movie Signs (the one with Mel Gibson) that I really liked:
"You just have to ask yourself: What kind of person are you? Are you the type that sees signs? Sees miracles? Or do you think that people just get lucky? Maybe there are no coincidences?"
Overall, I think you did a great job!

PS~ By the way, I really like your user name.

awesome. isn't God wonderful

you're right. ::smiles:: I probably should've stated that "we" are indeed humans and this isn't a place for a religious debate (even though i love it). I'd say we as Christians can be quite passionate and i'm sorry if what i said offended you, but i wont apoligize for saying it. I respect your religion and opinions as well. I'll leave it at that. God bless and Shalom (hope i spelled that right)

I loved the piece, but couldn't stop asking myself if you've ever expereince something to test your love and faith, exploding into your daily life and beautiful little signs...

I wish you never do, but if it ever happens, G-s forbid, you might find that even the greatest pain you feel will show you how much he loves you, even if it prevents you from seeing the signs...

All my love,

isn't amazing how the harshest day can end with the most beautiful light filled dreams? i know the feeling... after not being able to sleep for almost a week i accidently knocked over my Bible and it opened to this verse in Psalms: 'I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.' Psalms 4:8. it's amazing when He reaches out and just gently reminds you that He's been there all the time...

"It’s the roses on the roadside that suddenly burst into bloom after they had been forsaken. "

This is so beautiful!

"Because, maybe, one day, they’ll be all you’ve got left."

That phrase just kind of... summs up what it all is and means. It is all so true! I love the whole idea and concept. It is really hard to explain what I got out of it... but whatever it is, I will keep it with me.

It is really uplifting and comforting... just encouraging that sometimes these little things happen, and all we have to do is notice them. It runs very paralell to my poem, (which you have reviewed :) ) "Do We Recognize", but I get a different feeling... a different meaning from this.

You're on my favorites!

Signed,

DDG

That it so beautiful. I don't take time to look at all the signs around me and this makes me realize that I should. I really like this and I will take it to heart. I'll begin to look for the signs too. I know He's there for me and that He shows you things that proves that but yo'll only see them if you look for the signs. Great work!

And beauty can also emit from the deepest yet simplest of thoughts of those with lively imaginations and love for God! You've been blessed with a gift here, and obviously, unlike many others, you acknowledge the fact that it was give to you by Him and you use that for something good.

Great piece, really inspiring and moving. Pure literature. You've been guided to write such a piece, and it is very good. It is nice to find such a strong believer willing to risk everything for your belief, and that I admire about you.

Congratulations on such a great piece, I really do applaud you. I also want to thank you for taking the time to read mine, and taking the care and concern to review it with such kindness and generosity.

And your meaning behind your penname is sheer brilliance.

Admiring the beauty of the God-given talent you have...WOW!

Love always,

A-Light-From-Your-Darkness!
