Chapter One...

Miranda checked her appearance one last time in the fountain's reflection.

*Perfect...absolutely perfect!*

She braced herself as a sleek black limo pulled up in the school entrance; Miranda could barely contain her excitement. In a few moments Kei Shields would step out that limo, see her and fall head over heels in love.

The limo pulled to a stop and the chauffer got out and proceeded to open the passenger door. It seemed as if time stood still, Miranda stared wide-eyed as the most beautiful guy in the world stepped out for the door.

His hair was a pale gold, long and in a single braid the cascaded down his back. His eyes were a deep blue, almost a royal blue, and he was dressed in the standard black boys' uniform.

Miranda thought, then she shook her head causing her blonde curls to bounce. Taking a deep breath she flipped her hair back and walked forward, furious at herself for gawking at him.

"Kei Shields, as the president of the school council, I, Miranda Kumoshuni welcome you to Fudikanhi High School" she paused, and snapped her fingers and a fellow council member hurriedly placed a gift into Miranda's out stretched hand.

She bowed and held out the gift to him,

"Please except this gift from your fan club."

"Urg! HURRY UP FALINE! WE'RE GOING TO BE LATE!"

"SHUT UP TAKUMI! I CAN'T HELP IT IF I OVER SLEPTED!"

Miranda flinched and looked over Kei's shoulders frowning,

"Ow! Takumi! STOP DRAGGING ME!"

Faline cried out in fury twisting her grip from his.

" Then hurry up! Stop being such a DAMN SLOW POKE!"

Takumi shot back glaring at her intensely, Faline gasped then clenched her teeth and replied,

"SLOWPOKE! I'll show a damn slowpoke!" Faline raised her backpack and smacked Takumi, (rather loudly) across the face. Making him unconscious for a moment or two. Flinging her backpack over her shoulder she stalked off angrily to school muttering the whole time,

Then out of nowhere Faline crashed into something hard and solid, it almost knocked the breath for out of her. She stumbled back and then ran hastily ran in front of the person she bumped into.

She bowed and muttered,

"I'm so sorry for bumping into you... so very sorry"; slowly Faline raised her eyes up to look at the person she was apologizing to. As soon as Faline's eyes locked with the pair of royal blue eyes gazing down at her with amusement she was lost.

"I...I..."

Miranda stared at the both of them, smoldering with rage and jealousy and just when she was about to fume and rage at Faline, Takumi jumped in pulling the incoherent Faline away.

"Excuse me sir she's not herself today, please excuse her rudeness!"

Takumi dragged the speechless Faline away to the school.

"Good Riddance.." Miranda said to herself softly

Kei stared at the receding figures, still slightly in shock from seeing her,

"Tell me... who was that urchin?"

Kei missed Miranda's dark scowl and how her fists clench at her side. It took her a moment to compose herself then she answered unwillingly,

"That bar-person is Faline Saotomi, a nobody..."she paused then added, "an absolute nobody..."

Smirking at Miranda,

"A nobody huh?" Kei prompted then he smiled and walked into school.
