Reina hugged the little seven year old girl. The was quite pretty, with long blond wavy hair that just reached her butt and dazzling crystal blue eyes. Motoki reminded Reina much of herself, well maybe with a bit better of a position.
When Rei was seven when Prince Chide was nine and a horrid nine year old at that, always peeping in on her when she tried to change! He was a demon then and the devil now. Now that he was older, he didn't do that anymore, thank God, but Rei would much whether be watched then actually touched. She shivered and held Motoki closer. "Are you okay, sissy Rei?", Motoki looked at her with her innocent eyes, filled with concern. "Yes. I'm fine, my little sister." They weren't sister at all but called each other so because they had no real family, though Motoki's story was much different from Rei's. Motoki had actually known her family, but they were very poor and couldn't pay there taxes, so the women were forced to work at the castle while the men of the family worked in the fields, but things went horrible wrong. They family got split up and sold off to the royalties of other countries and the last news of Motoki's family was that her mother was freed, finally paying off her debts, and was coming to retrieve Motoki but had fallen ill and died along the journey. Reina hadn't ever told Motoki, couldn't bring herself to do so.
"Reina-chan? Hurry up! Prince Chide will be angry! The man is here and dinner must be served!", the old woman, Seima, called from the doorway. Reina nodded and hurriedly followed her down the hall toward the kitchen, she hadn't tried to dress in her best, like the other servants, she didn't care what occasion it was, she wasn't dressing up for Chide. She paused in awe at the dinning area. Decorations hung from the ceiling and a fine, red silk cloth had been placed over the long narrow table, which had been polished to a shine. The marble floor shone and the yellow reflection of the moon gleamed back at her, along with the little flames from the torches that lined the walls, giving off a romantic glow. the A small band of musicians played nonchalant music in the corner and all of them wore sharp blue suit jackets and in the middle of the room sat the throne, with an overdressed Prince Chide in it. Her body jolted as they met ey-to-eye. He starred at her with a look of lust. "Reina!", shouted one of the other servants busy placing trays of food on the table. Reina jerked out off her trance and joined in the chaos. Finally, the royals sat down to begin dinner and Reina finally got a chance to see the guy that everyone was making such a fuss over.
This man has tall and probably just a bit older than Prince Chide. Atop his head was dark blue hair that had a bit of a wavy texture to it, it was pretty long for a guys, ending mid way down his back and tied back in a pony tail. He was dressed MUCH more casual than Prince Chide, he was wearing brown pants and a white dress shirt, no suit jacket. He held his pants up with a black leather belt that the royal family crest had been imprinted into it. A smile was painted on the blue haired prince's face as he talked with Prince Chide. How could anyone even fake a smile while taking to Prince Chide, wondered Reina?
Prince Chide was the third Prince and wouldn't normally get the throne of King next but the fist prince had physical problems, and the second had mental problems, making the third prince, Prince Chide, the most high ranked in social class and the first in line for king. The King had given Prince Chide a kingdom to himself and when the king died all the kingdoms would be his. Chide really was a bastard, and he was just another offspring of one of the kings many concubines. Would Rei's first child be like this? It would shame Rei to know that her child was birthed like this but Chide had never seemed shamed about it and the King had always treated all his sons equally. He had four sons but when he choose a queen his queen wouldn't allow him to spend anymore 'special time' with his concubines. The only one Rei didn't know much about was the fourth one. He was supposedly her age and lived in a kingdom far away. Prince Chide made many girls flaunter at his charm and good looks but to Reina, who knew the real him, he was fowl and disgusting. Maybe that was why he was so entranced by her, because she was the only one he couldn't get. She figured that this new prince was the same way, but later we will find out she was very wrong, but that is for later, another time and chapter.
"Wasn't that party lovely?", little Motoki said, flopping onto her bed. Yes, it would be for a child who didn't have to do any work but run around with little trays of food with sticks poked into then, and when those were all gone, she was done and could enjoy herself as she liked. "Yes, wonderful." , Reina lied. Motoki giggled, "Did you see the Prince with the funny blue hair?" Reina plopped on her own (borrowed) bed and gave Motoki a friendly glare, "Hey, now! I've got green hair!" Motoki got up and laid down with Reina, even though the beds were to small to do so. "Yeah, but it was long, like a lady's!" Reina smiled and put her finger to her little sisters lips, "Hush now...you could get in big trouble if the right person heard you say that, maybe even put in the galleys." "Yeah, but I'd bust out.", Motoki bragged. "And how do you plain to do that, ne? Your good looks?" Motoki looked up at her, "You'd come save me wouldn't you?" Reina's face grew solemn, "Yes, little sister, I'd save you. Then, I'd unleash my vengeance on whomever dared do it to you!" Reina squeezed the little girl until she squealed with delight, "Now, to bed with you!" Motoki did so, with a smile on her face. Reina blew the candle out.
She loved it like this, complete darkness, besides Mr. Moon, that is. It made her feel like she was finally alone, the best time to think. Why was she here? She had no debt to pay. Well, Motoki didn't either, but she was an orphan now. However, when you turn eighteen you are allowed to leave, if you where an orphan, you work the mer reason of getting food in shelter. She wouldn't be allowed too. He would never let her. It's not like she had anywhere to go. The only thing she had that was worth stay was Motoki. Yes, that is why she choose to stay, and she would stay, at least until Motoki was of age to leave too. Then, they'll go off together and find the rest of Motoki's family, her family, and live happily ever after. That would be nice, only life's not like a fairy tale and a knight in shining armor won't save her from the wrath of the evil Prince Chide. Tomorrow, it would be thirteen days until she was eighteen and If she knew Prince Chide he would 'take off' as soon as the countdown was over.
