4"You summoned for me, majesty." He said to her. She looked at him and nodded. This woman wore a long sleek black dress. She had a gold chain around her head, which came to her forehead at a point, and a diamond was attached to the chain. She wore dark make up, and her black hair was past her waist and wavy. She was very beautiful, but everyone feared her. She was warped and, some thought, insane. She ruled the land of Ronalee, a far away place where everyone lived in poverty, but their ruler. This Queen was called Odyna.
"Indeed, I did. I've been hearing some rather pleasing things about you, dear boy." She twirled a strand of her hair with her fingers. She looked at him, her purplish eyes studying the look of confusion on his face.
" did?" He had thought he would have been killed. Not many people are sent to the great Queen Odyna and come back alive. He was, of course, one of the many paupers of the land. He worked at a unicorn stable, taking care of them. He worked hard, but his passion was singing.
"You sing, am I correct?" She asked, picking a glass and taking a sip of the liquid it held.
"How did you know?" He said, stupidly. He shouldn't of asked her, you wouldn't want to question Odyna. A look of horror came across his face, and the strange woman threw her head back and laughed.
"Never question me, boy! Do not worry, you need not fear me. I won't hurt you. I think I have a use for you. And you will no longer have to work with the unicorns. You will be able to do what you really wish to do."
"A use for me?" He asked.
"Yes, I will let you live here, in my palace, but you must perform for me. When I have visitors, you will sing yes?"
"You would let me live here? Just to sing for you and guests?" This was a dream come true for him! He would be given a wonderful roof over his head, and get to sing! The joy, the rapture! But, there had to be something else, he thought.
"Yes. But you will do as you are told, is that clear?"
"Yes.."
"Good, but before I give you a room, I want to hear you sing." She said. He was hesitant, but she glared at him, urging him to perform. So, he began. Yes, he's voice was amazing. The queen raised her hand after a few minutes, gesturing for him to stop. He did, and looked at her. She snapped her fingers, signaling for a guard. The boy became frightened. He knew it now, he was done for. She hated his voice and he was to be tortured to death, or thrown to the lions or suffer some other terrible and malicious death. A guard came over, and she spoke to him in a language the young man did not know. The guard grunted a reply, and went to the boy and grabbed his arm. The guards massive hands squeezed the boys arm firmly, and he thought he had broken it.
"Boy, don't look so fearful! He is only taking you to your new bedroom!" She laughed again, this time a high pitched giggle. The guard started to lead him to the door, as he was practically picking him off his feet.
"Wait-what is your name, boy?" The queen asked suddenly.
"Cennor." He told her. She smiled and waved her hand, as the giant man pulled the man away. She smile stayed on her face, and she thought, "Oh my boy, indeed you will have uses for me. Many more uses then you think.."
Authoress Note: soooo..this was like, my second attempt at a fantasy story! It was fun, because I ge tto make up my own land and rules and stuff! Hehe!
