Raina awoke, pain searing throughout her entire body. She groaned, and stayed still as not to hurt herself any more as the events from the day before flooded her. She felt tears well up at her eyes as she thought of Alex.
"He was just a child." She said. "Too young to die. It must have been a dream. It had to be a dream."
She had almost convinced herself of that when Normrak leaned against the doorway of the room, his trademark smirk pasted on his face once again. She shut her eyes immediately and shook her head, knowing that it wasn't a dream. Alex had died, and she had been beat. She opened her eyes again to see that Normrak wasn't there anymore and thought to herself, confused. She closed her eyes, and opened them once more and saw Kander in the doorway!
"Kander." She mumbled, attempting to sit up. Kander walked immediately over to her, and sat next to her.
"Raina. Are you okay?" He asked. She shook her head.
"No, I'm in pain." She growled at him. He gave her an apologetic grin and looked for a place to touch her so they could disappear to his house. Their eyes met and she found herself enthralled with the eyes, only after discovering that they didn't look at all like Kander's eyes. She swallowed, finding the strength to sit up. Their faces were at the same height and she found their heads moving closer together. When their lips met, she found that she wasn't kissing Kander, but instead she was kissing Normrak. She felt his hands at her waist and let her arms go slowly up to circle his neck.
Then she woke up.
"And that is what bruises do to the unsuspecting mind." She mumbled, as she rubbed her side and wincing. "That was awful…" She mumbled to herself, and she attempted to sit up. She found that with much difficulty and pain she could sit up and she let her legs hand over the side of the bed. She lifted her shirt to get a look at how damaged her side was, and saw that the entire side was dark purple, nearly black. She looked at her other side, only to find that it was just as damaged, and her stomach was full of dark purple spots up to her chest. She raised her hand and gently touched her cheek, wincing. She took her hand quickly from her cheeks and swallowed.
"I'm more damaged than I though…" She said quietly. She stood up, and wobbled to the mirror on the other side of the room to get a look at her face. Her arms, she noticed, had few scattered cuts and bruises, and she had one black eye. Her cheek had one slight cut that wasn't as nasty as she thought it would be.
"I look awful." She said.
"You always have, my dear." She heard the insulting voice behind her. She glanced at Normrak through the mirror, and ignored him to look at how deep the few cuts were on her arms. She felt his hand grab the hem of the side of her shirt and lifted it slowly so he could see the damage he did.
"Ah, I got you good." He commented and pulled her shirt back down. She continued to ignore him, and dragged her fingers lightly across her arm, wincing at the pain that it caused. She feel nothing but hate towards the creature behind her, and she ignored him in hopes that he would leave her alone.
"Come, my dear." He ordered her, and turned. She turned and followed him to keep him from having to cause her anymore pain, physical or emotional. When they entered the entirely black room, she noticed Kander, laying unconscious on the bed. Normrak smirked, and pushed a knife into her hands.
"Kill him." He ordered. "Shove the knife into his heart."
Normrak pushed her to Kander's side, and she looked at Kander's sleeping form. She, then, looked at the knife in her hand and her reflection from it. She could end her life right now. Before Normrak had a chance to hurt her any more. Or, she brightened slightly at the idea, she could try to kill Normrak. He was directly behind her and she could feel the heat from his body and his breath at the back of her head. She raised the knife, poised as if it were going to go straight into Kander's chest, and she turned quickly, only to be greeted by a ready Normrak.
"No, baby." He said, grabbing the knife from her. "Not me."
He turned her around, and pushed the knife back into her palm. He closed her fingers around in, and held her hand in his own so he could control where she put the knife. He pushed her hand slowly to Kander's chest, her struggling useless, and she grabbed his hand with her other.
"No," She said, and pulled with all she had in her unsuccessfully. He reached around her with his other hand and grabbed her wrist, pulling her hand back to her side.
"Kander!" She screamed, as the knife pierced his skin just slightly. Kander opened his eyes, and cursed.
"Get that thing away from me!" He yelled back, and grabbed both Normrak and Raina's hand on the knife and pushed it away, causing the knife to drag across him until it fell from his body. He winced, and rolled away from the knife quickly as Normrak wrapped his arms around Raina. Normrak's fangs found their way to Raina's neck, and he paused in that position. Kander glanced at Raina with an apologetic look in his eyes and disappeared quickly.
"Damn it!" She cursed. She shut her eyes tightly, ready for the pain that she knew Normrak would give her for not killing Kander willingly.
"Aw, baby." Normrak said, his sadistic voice had an angry tinge to it. "You didn't kill him."
"No, I didn't." She agreed, and swallowed. She looked down at his hands at her waist, and noticed the knife still gripped in his hand. She swallowed again, and winced when she felt it at her stomach. She grabbed his hand, trying to keep the knife from digging into her skin.
"You really need anger management classes." She mumbled very quietly, though she knew he could hear her very well. He reached over, and held both of her wrists with his one hand, pulling her hands away from his. With the hand holding the knife, he lifted the front of her shirt slightly, where she had yet another bruise. He let the knife's blade rest on her skin just enough to draw blood and make her wince.
"You are lucky, honey, that I know exactly how deep to go without going so deep as to need stitches." He responded finally. He let the knife linger on the patch of skin that it had dug into before dragging it across her stomach to her side.
"Ouch…" She trailed off, as tears sprang to her eyes. The tears fell down her cheeks, quickly followed by many more. He let his finger run across, gathering blood from her stomach, and he raised the bloody finger to his mouth, licking the blood off slowly.
"Not bad, love." He commented.
He took the knife and dragged it along her stomach again, and gathered her blood on his finger once more. He licked the blood off again, and smirked. He pulled her shirt down, and the blood immediately soaked through the cloth of her shirt. He turned her around to face him and watched the tears run down her face quickly with a smirk. He put his hand underneath her shirt and the blood quickly clung to his hand. He took his hand out and licked it clean of the blood, smirking at her crying face the entire time. With that, he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer and lowered his head to her neck where he bit into it, and promptly began to drink the blood from her body.
"Don't do this!" She cried, and attempted to pull away. The only result of that was nearly tearing her skin, causing her much more pain.
She gave up, tears running down her face and soon became woozy from the blood loss from her stomach and her neck.
When he finally stopped, the two small wounds left from his fangs quickly and unnaturally healed as his head left her neck; his eyes darkened by the blood he had just drank. She wobbled, unbalanced in his arms and swiftly fainted from blood loss onto Normrak.

Kander paced his room front to back and back to front again, trying to think of what to do. He needed advice, he decided, and abruptly disappeared to see the Head.
"What do I do?" He asked, running a hand through his hair once more. "I can't even lay a useful punch on him! Every time that I try to get her back, he wins. He keeps her. He almost killed me this morning!"
"Calm down, Kander, calm down." The Head said, "Everything is working according to plan."
"According to plan!" Kander repeated, nearly yelling. "According to plan! She's been taken from me by Normrak. Does that not worry you? She'll be killed! Unless some miracle happens that keep Normrak from killing her, she'll die! I was assigned to change her, remember?"
The Head gave a quick chuckle. "Kander, will you calm down. I realize all of this, and it will hopefully be taken care of."
Kander stared at the Head, amazed. "What are you talking about?!" He exclaimed. "She's going to be killed, and you act like it's no fucking deal!"
"Come here, my boy." The Head ordered. Kander walked over to him, shaking his head. "Now, listen to me." The Head whispered quietly and almost inaudibly in Kander's ear, causing his face to attain the most shocked look he had ever had in his life.
"Rina?" He said, loudly, jumping away from him. "Rina?"
"Yes, Rina. Now, shush down. We don't need the world knowing."
"That's impossible. It'll never happen. Not in a million years!" He exclaimed. "Besides, Normrak is about to kill Raina! We should do something!"
"Kander." The Head answered, in a warning voice. Kander stopped talking and started pacing. The Head grabbed his arm and the two disappeared.

Raina gave out pained moan and tried to sit up ineffectively. She was feeling too light-headed and was in too much pain to move. After realizing this, she looked around at her surroundings. She was laying on a couch which was in front of a turned-on television.
"Ah, finally you're awake." She heard Normrak's sadistic voice. "I almost thought I had killed you."
"Since when did you care?" She answered, boldly. She could only feel hate towards the creature.
"I don't, my-" Normrak stopped in mid-sentence and looked around. Though she hated him, she couldn't help but be curious about his strange, sudden behavior.
"What?" She asked with a sharp edge in her voice.
"Do shut up, my dear." He ordered. He stood and made his way towards the back of the house. Raina took the opportunity to do her best to move and get out of there no matter how much pain it caused her. She, with much pain and tears, found herself opening the door and stepping out. She then felt a hand grab her hair and pull her back mercilessly. She gave out a cry of pain and she fell backwards into the house.
"No, no, honey." Normrak's sinister voice said above her. "You are not allowed to leave."
She wiped her tears on her shirt and glared up at him, noticing that he was bleeding on the forehead.
"I hope you bleed to death." She grumbled under her breath, knowing very well that the small wound was incapable of producing that much blood and even if it was, the wound would heal too quickly to do any damage anyway.
"That's not very nice, babe." He said, emphasizing the word 'babe'. She glared at him as he reached up and gathered some of his own blood on his finger before it quickly and unnaturally healed. He kneeled down over her and wiped his blood harshly on her own lips. As she automatically went to wipe to thick liquid off on her arm, he grabbed it and held her arms down at her sides.
"Lick it off, Hun." He ordered. She kept her lips tightly pursed together. "Lick it off, now, baby."
She got a sudden memory at him kicking her sides and immediately licked her lips, surprised at the blood's taste. It was sweeter than she expected. Suddenly, she thirsted for more and looked up at Normrak expectantly. Normrak gave a smirk.
"No more, sweetheart." He told her. She frowned, and closed her eyes trying to remember the lovely sweet taste and forget the appalling pain that was spread throughout her entire body. Suddenly, she realized, there wasn't an appalling pain in her body. She sat up and looked at her arms in amazement. All of the bruises and cuts that was there previously was not there now. She looked at Normrak as he smirked back and he stood.
"Get up, baby." He ordered. She stood, and he grabbed her arm. The two disappeared and emerged underneath a dock in water. She screeched.
"God, that's cold! Get me out of here!" She ordered loudly, pushing her legs back and forth to keep her head above water. They disappeared to the middle of a large body of water (perhaps a lake), and he let go of her, forcing her to swim on her own. He pushed his power beneath him and floated above her with a smirk.
"Get me out of here!" She yelled, looking up at him. He floated upside down, their faces in front of each other with a foot apart.
"You are in no position to order me around, my dear." He told her with his everlasting smirk.
She reached out and grabbed him. He floated upward, letting her dangle from him as he put himself right side up. She wrapped her arms around his neck, taking a glance down and gulping.
"Don't drop, Hun. Otherwise you might drown." Normrak gave a useless warning. Her grip tightened and she glared straight into his eyes.
"You won't drop me. Not yet." She said with confidence.
"Why wouldn't I, love?"
"Because you still want to cause me pain." She growled.
"Ah, but what more painful death is there to drown? Letting you suffocate in the water?" He asked with a smirk.
She stared at him, aghast.
"You wouldn't…" She trailed off.
"Wouldn't I, Hun?" He said. She swallowed as they drifted over the body of water. He started going so fast that she lost grip on his neck and screamed as she grabbed his waist. She felt tears run down her face at her close experience with death, and tightened her grip incredibly on Normrak.
"Don't do it!" She cried. He stopped suddenly, over a small island that look like it could only hold the population of one. She lost her grip once more and screamed as she fell, the ground approaching her faster and faster and the gravity grabbed her. She didn't have time for tears, and looked up at where Normrak was. He wasn't there anymore. She wiped an unknown tear from her face.
She wondered why she hadn't hit the ground, and found herself floating, gently making way to the ground slowly. She let out a breath of relief out and saw Normrak on the ground already, walking towards a mansion in the middle of the island. She was following him, and descending at once she noticed.
Once she finally hit the ground, she wiped all the tears from her eyes, and turned around to get as far from Normrak as she possibly could, but she found that even when she turned around, she was still forced to follow him. When the two finally made in into the house, Normrak turned, his eyes blazing. She shrank back against the closed door.
"Now, Hun," He said, emphasizing the word 'Hun'. "do you know what you did wrong?"
She stared at him, unable to take a step back as he stepped forward.
"Answer me!" He ordered. She swallowed and answered in a squeaky voice that she did not recognize as her own.
"Grabbed you?" She squeaked, frightened that he would do something awful to her.
"And?"
"Fell?"
"And?" He asked again, as if searching for something.
"I don't know." She answered, as he took another step towards her. She swallowed as he hissed back in a menacing low voice.
"You tried to run away." He growled.
"It won't happen again." She said, as he took one more step towards her, leaving very little space between the two.
"Damn right it won't, sweetheart." He told her, running his hand gently down her cheek. He immediately after slapped her hard enough to leave a bruise or a cut. She swallowed and did nothing, in hope that he would quit there.
"Don't. Please, don't." She murmured as he grabbed her. She didn't move after her grabbed her, and neither did he. They stood staring at each other, seemingly enthralled with each other's eyes until Normrak broke the contact and threw her down. She immediately stood and avoided being kicked at the moment, and took off running down the hall. She found a room with a lock and locked herself inside. She heard a sudden, loud pounding on it that sounded hard enough to leave dents in the door. She heard a click as the door was unlocked and she hid herself in the shower.
"Hun, you should know better to run away from me and anger me even more." She heard him. He threw open the curtains and she got out quickly running out of the bathroom and up the stairs.
"Bad choice, babe." She heard him yell from the bottom step. "This gives me more to damage you with, these stairs."
"Shit." She mumbled. She found her way into a corner of a room and shut her eyes tightly, waiting for Normrak to come and hurt her more. True to her thoughts, Normrak burst in the room and gave her a harsh kick. She kept herself into a ball which would keep as much damage from happening, and he grabbed the front of her shirt, pushing her against the wall, flat, once again.
"Don't do this! Don't hurt me!" She said quickly, shutting her eyes once more. Whatever she was expecting, she wasn't expecting him to follow her suggestion.
"Love, you're very lucky that I only feel like sleeping right now." He said, and she swallowed, looking at him. She looked over his shoulder at the bed behind him. He let go of her harshly and suddenly, and he laid on the bed.
"You had better not even try to escape. Do not leave this island. Even if you did, there is no way you might possibly be able to swim to land before drowning." He threatened before he soon fell asleep. She walked quietly out of the room and down the stairs, interrupted by her stomach growling at her. She found a kitchen and opened the pantry in hope of finding food for her empty stomach. She grinned at all the food that was in the pantry, and immediately grabbed some macaroni and cheese to fix. It wasn't long before she was seated in front of the television with a bowl of macaroni and cheese, searching the channels for something good to watch.
She didn't find a TV show, but she did find an order-in movie that she had been wanting to see. She looked around and thought on how Normrak would react if she ordered it. He had two houses, one on an island by itself. That must mean he had a large sum of money in hand…
"Ah, what the heck." She mumbled to herself, and ordered it in. She made herself comfortable on the soft, leather couch and stuck her fork in the macaroni and cheese. It was a movie about a girl who had gotten kidnapped, and the kidnapper's son took care of her needs, such as food and clothing. The kidnapper's son and this girl fell in love even though the kidnapper refused to let the two be together. Later, they ran off and got married. However, the kidnapper had forbade the two to love each other, so naturally the kidnapper caused trouble for the two. He had sent in a professional assassin to kill the girl, but of course, the kidnapper's son knew how to kick butt and didn't let the assassin hurt the girl. It went on like that for one hour and forty-five minutes.
When the movie was finally over, Raina put the dirty bowl into the sink and cleaned up her mess. She was suddenly struck with a cleaning mood, and immediately did the dishes (even though there were very little), and swept the floor. She did almost everything but vacuuming in fear that Normrak might wake up. She was just finishing up with the dusting as Normrak came in with a yawn and then a sneeze, catching her attention. She immediately put the rag and the cleaner away, and swallowed.
"Good job, cleaning, Hun." He said with a yawn. He kissed her on the nose as a brother might have, and found his way into the kitchen, leaving Raina stunned at his action. She shook her head and glared after Normrak.
"God, what an idiot." She grumbled, and turned around. She found her way outside and sat near the water, sticking her feet in it, wrapping her arms around her knees.

"It'll never work." Kander said, once more pacing around his living room. "Never will it work."
"Kander, be patient. It's happened before." The Head said, sitting on Kander's couch.
"It's…what?!" Kander exclaimed. "With who?"
"That is none of your business." The Head said defensively.
"Head,-"
"I told you to call me Norm." The Head told Kander. Kander ran a hand through his hair.
"It…just…" Kander trailed off. "It's impossible!"
"Kander, calm down. It will work."
"I'm going to go get her now." Kander announced. The Head nodded.
"Go get her." He encouraged. Kander disappeared.
He appeared at Normrak's house only to find that it had been abandoned.
"Damn it!" He cursed, and went out of the house, running down the street. While he was running, he ran into Rina.
"Kander!" She said in delight. "I was wondering where you went!"
She took a step closer to him and gave her a hug that he couldn't help but to return.
"Rina, have you seen Normrak?" Kander asked, seriously.
"No, I haven't. The last thing I heard of him, he was in his house. Nothing unusual. Is your sister okay?" She asked, concern obvious in her eyes as she looked up at Kander.
"No, she's not. I don't even know where she is." He admitted. She looked at him with sympathy.
"Can I help find her?"
"It's too dangerous."
"Kander, please." She said, looking into his eyes. "I've been in plenty of more dangerous situations than this."
"What are you talking about?" He asked, his eyebrows furrowing together.
"I guess I should tell you, but you can't tell anyone. It's a secret that could get me killed if the right creatures knew it." She said. "I don't know what it is about you, but I trust you."
"Creatures?" He asked.
"Leeches, vampires." She told him. She lifted her shirt slightly to show off a knife she had on her belt. "I kill them. Have you ever seen the show Buffy the vampire slayer?"
"Oh no. No, no." He said and backed up from her. "Damn it all."
"Kander, what's wrong? I mean, you don't have anything to fear from me." She said, stepping towards him.
"Don't I?" He asked, and took more steps back. He couldn't bring himself to hurt her.
"Vampires are everywhere. Unlike that stupid television series, they can come out in daylight and feed with no problem. They have a thing they call the Game, and with it they kidnap humans and change them. They are extremely strong and damn near invincible. The only thing that kills them is a knife through their heart. Anything really, but it doesn't have to be a wooden stake. I prefer knives."
"Get away from me, please." He said, and stopped stepping back. Why did it feel like someone just twisted his heart into two? "God, if I had known that, I would have never asked you to show me around."
"Kander?" She asked, and stepped directly in front of him, looking into his eyes.
"No, don't talk to me." He said, and shook his head. He ran his tongue over his fangs, pricking his tongue. She reached for him.
"Damn it." He said. "I told you to stay away."
"Kander, what the hell is wrong with you?" She screeched.
"You've got to promise not to do anything to me, and you must promise to not tell anyone." He said, a slight grin playing on his lips. "I'm very experienced with slayers, and I know how to deal with them."
"You're not!" She said, her eyes wide.
"Oh, I am." He said, a slow, lazy grin fully on his lips now.
"But your sister…" She said. "She's a vampire too?"
"Not yet." He told her truthfully.
"Damn it!" She cursed. "It was under my nose the entire time!"
"I'm sorry." He said. She looked up at him with a smile.
"You're a Gamer?" She asked. He smiled back, and looked over her shoulder at a family nearing them, obviously on a walk.
"We're going to get an audience soon if we don't go somewhere else to do this." He told her. She looked at him thoughtfully.
"Take me to your house." She suggested, holding out her arm. He grabbed her hand, lacing her fingers with his, and the two disappeared to his house. Kander found that the Head wasn't there with a grin.
"As I said before, you're a Gamer?" She asked once more.
"I am." He confessed.
"And your 'sister' is the Subject." She stated.
"Yes."
"And Normrak is a vampire as well." She said. "The strongest?"
"Yes."
She looked at her fingers laced with his and smiled, looking back up to his eyes.
"And you are about to kiss me." She stated, just before their lips met.

Raina let out an annoyed sigh as she pushed the vacuum back and forth over the carpet. After she finished the last bit of carpet, she put the vacuum up and sat on the couch, folding her hands on her stomach.
"Finished, my dear?" She heard his mocking voice just entering the living room once again.
She didn't answer, but instead reached for the remote. She found his hand already on it, and shot a glare at him as he turned on the television. She stood up to get out of the room he was, and started touring around the very large house. She found seven bedrooms, four bathrooms, a guestroom, a game room which was full of arcade games and such, a computer room, and a library. She made her way into the library and began scanning the titles of the books that she found.
"Hm…how are these organized?" She thought out loud to herself. They were not organized by title, or author. She looked at the subjects of the books, and they weren't organized by subject either.
"They aren't organized at all. Slob." She mumbled to herself. "And there are too many books to organize at once."
She groaned, and continued to look through the different books that the room was filled with. She smiled as she found a book that looked and sounded interesting. She sat on a soft chair and began reading. After she had finished four chapters of the book, she set it down and went to get a drink. She looked at the stairs, and stared at the rail with a grin. She had a one story house, but in the two story house that her friend had, her friend had always slid down the rail. She sat on the rail, and started sliding down, completely forgetting about Normrak, and her situation, just ready to have fun. About halfway down, she started to wobble and she immediately jumped off to avoid falling backwards onto the ground. She walked the rest of the way and found her way into the kitchen. Immediately she began searching cabinets for a glass, and on the third try she found a photograph in a frame. She looked at it in confusion and saw that there were three photographs in there, two striped with blood. The first two that were striped with blood, she couldn't recognize. The first one was a blonde, smiling girl who looked like someone who would be popular and a cheerleader. She stuck her tongue out in disgust at it and the blood smeared across the flawless, too-innocent looking face. She focused on the other one, not noticing the third one yet. The second photograph, also smeared with blood, was of a girl with bouncy red hair thrown up into a ponytail. She was frowning, and looked unhappy. Almost opposite of the first bubbly-looking girl. Then she focused on the third one, with no blood on it. It was her. The picture she had taken at the mall, before her friend agreed to take a picture with her. She had thrown her hair into a careless ponytail, and wasn't smiling, yet wasn't frowning either.
She gasped, throwing it back in the cabinet, completely forgetting her drink and her good mood at the sight of the blood-streaked pictures and the picture of her. She took a step back from the cabinet and crashed into Normrak.
"Well, my dear, looks like you found my record." He said, sarcastically. She took a step forward quickly to get away from him, and stared back, even more frightened of him than before.
"Your record?" She repeated.
"Ah, yes. The record I keep of which Subjects I have killed. Nice touch, don't you think? With the blood." He stated, smirking at her. "Their blood, just before they died."
She just swallowed.
"Now, honey, why would you be going through all of my cabinets and drawers like that?" He asked, his eyes looking slightly angered.
"A…a cup." She squeaked. He reached past her, and pulled out a cup from somewhere that she didn't see.
"Dear, I'll give you one more chance before I'm forced to hurt you again. I'll let this one slide, but don't let it happen again." He said. She nodded, grateful that he wasn't going to beat her.
"Now, Hun, get what you were going to get and then get into the television room." He gave out a growl. "There, you will tell me everything you know, including all the information you have about yourself."
"Yes sir." She mumbled. He smirked and left her to get some water. She stayed in the kitchen, filling up and emptying her cup in the sink, thinking to herself quietly.
"There is no damn way I'm going to tell him anything," She grumbled quietly. She dropped the plastic cup into the sink and let out a deep breath. She made her way into the living room and dropped herself on the couch, watching Normrak plop down on the opposite end.
"Now, Hun, I like to know my Subjects before I kill them. Tell me about yourself." He said, smirking continuously. She shot a glare at him, and said nothing. "Dear, tell me your age." He continued.
"Eighteen." She answered shortly.
"Have you graduated?"
"Yes."
"Come, my dear, give me information." He ordered.
"I hardly see how its fair that I'm supposed to give you all of my personal information, yet you remain unknown." She growled at him. He chuckled.
"Well, Hun, what do you want to know? I see no harm in this. After all, I will be killing you soon." He said. She was silent. "Then I cannot answer your questions about me if you do not talk."
She mumbled something intelligible.
"What is that?"
"Shouldn't you already know enough about me, you bastard?" She growled. He just smirked back at her.
"Ah, perhaps I do, my dear. Perhaps I know more information than you may ever want me to know." He said. She glared at him. "Those other two, in the pictures, were the past two Subjects. I have not failed to kill one Subject throughout my entire lifetime, though some I did keep around longer."
"Shut up." She growled. He smirked.
"My dear, you should not be ordering me around unless you wish to get hurt."
She kept silent, and looked out the window at the dark sky. "Please let me be, Norm." She said. He smirked again, and put his feet up on the couch, stretching out, and in result pushed her off. She glared at him, and turned to leave the room, but he called her back.
"What?" She snapped. "Haven't you made my life miserable enough?"
"Not near as miserable as I am capable of. You still have many days to go. Many more days until I kill you. Many more days that I am able to torture you." He answered.
"Why don't you just kill me now? So you don't have many more days of keeping me? Drown me, if you so please." She snarled.
"Sweetheart, if I did that I would be showing you mercy." He said, his trademark smirk playing on his lips. She glared at him.
"Then show me mercy." She snapped. "Or are you afraid of mercy in itself?"
He stood, and walked until he was so close to her that they were nearly touching. She stood her ground and tried not to look afraid.
"My dear, I am not afraid of anything."
"Except feelings." She growled back. "Except mercy because that would show feelings. You're afraid of emotions."
"If I weren't enjoying arguing with you because I have not argued with anyone in such a long time, you would not be standing right now." He snapped.
"Enjoying? Isn't that an emotion? Shouldn't you be cowering in a corner somewhere?"
"Shouldn't you? You know I'm a hundred times as strong as you could ever be. If I wanted, I could be a wrestling, boxing, fighting champion."
"Then why aren't you? Is it because you would have to have a passion for it? Because passion is an emotion?"
"I'm as unafraid of emotions as anyone could ever be, honey." He said.
"Because you refuse to feel them. I'm standing my ground and defending myself, and you are arguing back instead of hurting me because you don't know what to make of me."
"My dear, I could hurt you right now if I wanted to, and we both know that you could do nothing to stop me or to keep me from causing you as much pain as I wish to cause you. We both know that I had told you why I am not hurting you right now, but if you really wish to be hurt that badly, I can do it without hesitation." He told her.
"Ah, we both do know that." She agreed. "But, we both know that you won't kill me. Not yet, you won't. You yourself said that you wanted to cause me more pain before I died."
"And what might stop me from giving you a killing blow to your head right now?"
"Nothing, nothing at all except the fact that there is so much that you have yet to do to me and you know you want to complete all the forms of torture before you kill me."
"What makes you so sure that I won't kill you tonight?"
"Nothing. No one damn thing, but I don't care. The sooner I die, the sooner I get away from you and your freaking torture habits. Your freaking disorder."
He grabbed her wrist and put the vein near his mouth. "What's to stop me from sinking my teeth into your wrist right now, and taking every last drop of blood you have?"
"Nothing except the fact that there's so much more you could do to me." She said confidently. "Go ahead, bite me. Pain may last through me for a moment or for an hour, but it will end when I die."
"You're trying to hide your fear, and aren't doing such a good job at it, my dear. Maybe you should take acting lessons."
"And maybe you should find yourself the nearest asylum."
"After you, sweetheart." He responded.
"Rot in hell." She ordered.
"Not going to happen soon, I assure you. I'm not planning on dying any time in the next millennium."
"Expect the unexpected." She snapped. "My friend will find you, and kill you soon after. She's one of the best."
"Ah, and so am I, my dear. So am I. In fact, I'm not just one of the best, I am the best." He smirked. "And I've beaten every slayer that has challenged me. None of them has lived."
"But she will. Much like you, she is the best." Raina retorted and tried to pull her wrist away, only causing him to tighten his grip. "And she will tear you apart."
"Unless she has already been taken care of. Is she about 5'8 or 5'9?. Waist length blonde hair?"
She gasped. "You didn't!"
"She's not dead, but I do believe my father, such a traitor he is, is going to take care of her. Considering I let her live."
"Your father." She repeated. "A traitor?"
"I do not need to explain myself to you, my dear." He snapped at her.
"You didn't kill her." She said. "Why?"
"She was the first nearly challenging fight I have had in a long time. I decided to let her live so we could fight again some time. The second time we might have to fight though, I may end up killing her."
"God, you cold, heartless JERK!" She yelled.
"Yes, yes I am." He agreed, watching her fume amused.
"I can't believe you!" She continued, as if waiting for him to get angry also. "You, scared of emotion. Is killing me not enough? Is killing every Subject you happen to obtain not enough?! No, instead you go along, heartlessly killing everyone you can see, not caring on whether they have a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife!"
"And you see a problem with this?" He asked, with a smirk, watching her anger more.
"Hell yes I see a problem with this!" She poked his chest, catching him off guard.
"If you were smart, my dear, you would not touch me." He said, to her deaf ears.
"I don't believe that anyone could be this heartless! You have emotions somewhere in you! Whether you're scared of them or not! They're there and you're just locking them inside by killing everyone around you mercilessly!" She poked him again. "I never though anyone could actually live without some kind of emotion!"
"Well, Hun, I suppose I proved you wrong." He said. She glared at him and poked him again.
"You are the worst person I've ever met!" She declared to him fearlessly. With that he grinned, and pushed her to the ground roughly.
"I told you not to touch me, my dear." He said. She got up quickly, and smirked at him.
"Go ahead, hurt me some more, why don't you? What's stopping you?" She asked, and poked him again daringly. He grinned back at her, and pressed her against the hall wall. She stared into his eyes boldly, and waited for him to damage her. He didn't.
"What's taking so long?" She asked. He chuckled.
"Why are you in such a hurry to be beaten?" He answered with a question.
"Why are you answering my question with one of your own?" She retorted.
"Ah, my dear, in which you in turn answer with another question of your own." He said. She smirked.
"So I do." She agreed. He smirked back at her, his arms on either side of her, locking her in front of him.
