'Wow me an elf" is all I could think for the next few days. I didn't look any different. I did have scars though. The one that Alex had left on my cheek and the one that Geraldo left on my back near my neck still existed. All the others had healed. However no one would let me out of my room. I found out from Leoran that we were still at the castle and everyone was redecorating with Leo's family crest and the ballroom was being decorated with mine as well since we were both to be coroneted in there.

Josh came in one day. He told me that his father had been killed. A wave of relief filled me, but I did feel sympathy for him.

A dressmaker came in. She measured me forever. But finally after she got all my measurements she left. She wouldn't even let me see her design for the dress. I'm sure it would be horrible.

I spent most of my boring confinement playing cards with Joshua or reading the many books in my room. Obviously Geraldo never used this room much since it was like a mini-library. I read all about the different countries that I did not know existed. I made plans to visit all of them. At Litus there was an ocean. I wished to see this place more than any other. After all I had never seen a real ocean.

At Ensifer the elves were highly skilled in swordsmanship. Ensifer was also by the ocean. The beaches there are mostly rocky coves though, so Litus was still first on my list of places to visit.

In Tristitia they had enormous zoos with rare creatures that they had captured from the wild. After I looked up zoo in the large dictionary, I vowed to go to this place and free all of them. (Little did I know that one day my travels would take me to Tristitia, but not of my own free will) (A/N: Thought I'd give a little hint about the sequel. *smiles* You'll see soon enough what I'm talking about. *grins mischievously*)

Magicus came in to bring me magic books to read. I learned much after reading them. The bookshelves were also filled with fairy tales. I loved those more than any other. Every night I would read a new one.

Josh kept telling me that they would let me out soon. However it did not seem so. Caylin came in every day to talk to me as well. And Sirius stayed with me. I really wanted to go see Zorro though. I missed him a lot. A few days before the coronation Leoran came in.

"Hey, they should be letting you out tomorrow."

"Good. I'll be glad to get out of here. Can you do me a favor?"

"Yeah sure."

"Bring me two pieces of paper, a pen, two of the invitations for the coronation, and a candle."

"What for?"

"It's a witch thing, you wouldn't understand."

"Well, I'll ask Josh then."

"Is he a witch? I definitely don't think so. He's a wizard there is a difference," I laughed.

"You're so difficult sometimes!" he yelled jokingly.

"Come on please do this for me. I promise it won't result in anything bad."

"I never said I wouldn't, I just said you were difficult."

"Thank you. Oh and will you take out Sirius for me too. I'll need to be alone." I lifted up the sleeping hound and handed him to Leo. "And tell everyone to leave me alone for the rest of day."

"Of course you highness."

"If I had the strength I would come over there and kick your royal ass."

He laughed and then left the room. A few minutes later he came back with my supplies.

"You're welcome."

He then left me alone. I walked over to the window, the sun was setting. After that, I took out my magic book and tuned to the page that read, "Making Contact with the Spirit World." Earlier that week I came across that chapter and decided I would try and invite my mother and Cara to the coronation. I knew it was possible to transport spirits back and forth for short periods of time.

I started to write on the first piece of paper,

"Dear Selene Arcanus," I figured that would have to be her last name.

"I'm your daughter. I know you never met me and I never met you, but I do love you. Father gave me pictures and I know he loved you with all his heart. As you know he is an elf so that makes me half elf. But by some amazing spell your father cast on me early in my life I just turned into a real elf about a week ago. However I'm sure you know all this. I enclosed an invitation to my coronation as Princess of Loriana. I would be honored if you would come. Please attend it is in two days. It would mean a lot to me to finally meet you.

Lots of Love, Your daughter, Arianna Selene Williams"

I folded it up with the invitation and then began on my next letter.

"Dear Cara,

I miss you beyond belief. And so does Corion. He's not like his old self anymore. I've became an elf by magic a week or so ago. I would greatly appreciate it if you came to my coronation. I'm going to become a princess of Loriana too. It would not be the same with out you. Just in case you did not know I killed Geraldo. I hope that is enough vengeance for the both of us. I love and miss you so much. Please come and visit. I'm sure Corion would be overjoyed as well.

Lots of Love, Your cousin, Arie"

I put the invitation in that one too. I took the dagger out of my boot. It was not the same one I used to kill Geraldo with. From what I heard they put that one on display. I took my new dagger and cut my arm. Just enough to let a little blood drop on each letter. I waved my hand over each letter so they would glow. And then I took the candle and burnt the letters. Hopefully they would reach my mother and Cara in time.

I slept soundly that night because of my new found hope. The next morning I was able to leave. Thank God! I changed and grabbed my sword and sheathed it. I decided to carry it around everywhere with me now or whenever I went out at least. And then ran down to the large pasture. Zorro was nowhere in sight, but I did see a dapple gray unicorn. The unicorn trotted over to me and nickered joyfully.

"Are you my Zorro?" I laughed.

He put his nose in my hands to answer yes. "I think you're colors went wrong though," I said as I ran my hands through his coat. It was mostly white except for tiny black spots. Zorro picked up his head and turned away. "Aw don't be mad. I think you look very majestic." He came back to me and lowered his head in apology. I felt his horn. I'm pretty sure it was made of crystal. He lifted his head and I lifted myself onto his back.

"You want to go for a ride?"

He neighed happily in response. Zorro took off galloping across the pasture. He jumped over the fence and headed into the woods. We rode together skillfully. I urged him on until we came to a stream. After I dismounted I lay my sword behind a rock. While, Zorro grazed I jumped into the water. I stayed under for a while and swam.

I rode back to the castle around sunset and let Zorro remain in the pasture. When I returned to the castle my father met me and grabbed my hand.

"Arie, I see you haven't changed much. How could you be so careless?"

"Careless? What didn't I do? Or what did I do?"

"There is a banquet in about an hour and you are hardly ready."

Anondra came up to us and laughed. "My lord Thomas, there is nothing to worry about. All will be well. Come on Arie lets go get you ready."

Anondra led me away. As we walked away from my father, I turned my head back and stuck my tongue out at him. Surprisingly he had changed from his old grumpy self and in response he playfully shook his fist at Anondra's back. I saw him laughing as we continued on to Anondra's room. It was good to see him happy for once.

As we walked into my grandmother's room I was bombarded by servants. They started to dry my hair and untangle it. I laughed at this.

"Honestly my lady, you only make it more difficult. Remember we are in a hurry," said one maid in frustration.

"I'm sorry," I giggled. "Let me have a go." I took the brush from one of them and brushed my hair violently. "You'll never get anywhere if you try and dry and brush at the same time." I then pointed at my tangle free hair and said a short spell. Instantly my hair was dry.

Anondra took out some dresses and showed them to me. They were all part of the latest fashion in the castle. They had puffy skirts and tight bodices.

Anondra saw the loathing in my face and laughed. "I know they do not look all that comfortable or even pretty, but we must stay with their fashion for at least one night. I'm sure you will love your dress for the coronation. It is an elfin style not one of the styles from here."

I sighed in relief and then picked out the simplest dress of the ones in front of me to wear for tonight. I looked in the mirror. Not the best outfit, but I could deal with it for one night. Anondra ran her finger across the scar on my cheek and pursed her lips. "We could use some makeup to cover that up."

"No, don't. I like it. It makes me look a little more unique."

"I agree."

We walked down to the banquet hall together. There were many elves there as well as mortals. Everyone was quite content in crowding around me and asking me numerous questions. However the food looked delicious so that was something to be happy about. I sat at the head table. Leoran sat in the middle of it and I was on his right and Caylin was on my right.

The rest of our table was filled with many nobles. All the other elves sat at their own table and Joshua was with them. I nudged Caylin. "How'd we end up here?"

"Leoran thought that you should meet some of the nobles. I made him let me stay with you, otherwise you would be bored to death."

"My lady, what is it like to be an elf compared to being a normal woman," said a middle aged countess.

"Truthfully, it's not all that different or at least so far. After all I have been shut in my room for quite a long time," I said as I harshly nudged Leo. He gave me a grim look and continued talking with his guests.

"Seems like Leo is too good for us now," I whispered to Caylin. He smirked at me. We both continued to entertain the guests as well. Musicians were hired to entertain after dinner. I sat patiently. Finally we were allowed to leave. After we were out of sight Caylin carried me back to my room. We walked out to the balcony and sat on the railing.

"Tomorrow you will be Princess Arianna of Loriana.(I didn't mean for it to sound so alike, I swear. (LOL) Are you excited?"

"More than you can believe."

He kissed me on the cheek. "Me too."

"To tell you the truth I'm a little nervous. I'm really clumsy; I'm probably the only clumsy elf in all the lands. What if I trip and fall in front of everyone?" I asked as I buried my face in my hands.

"You won't have to worry about that because your dad is your escort and I doubt he'd let you fall. And you have no worries about tripping while you're dancing because I would never let you fall and you'll be my partner for all the dances."

"Oh I will, will I?" I laughed as I rested my head against his shoulder. He put his arm around me, "Yup, I'm pretty sure you will agree."

"You might have to fight off the other men."

"No worries. They do not frighten me."

"Then my Prince Caylin, what does frighten you."

"The wrath of Lady Arianna," he joked. "One of the men from my homeland told me quite a funny tale about his encounter with you recently."

"Oh really? I think I know of this man. He was quite a charmer. Not too shabby looking either."

"You are kidding me right?" he said as he turned to look at my face.

"Yes of course, silly."

"I'm glad."

"Where has Sirius been all day? I haven't seen him once today."

"He wished to help with decorating. After he's done he's coming back in."

"Oh. I guess you better get back to your rooms. It's getting late and I don't want any rumors to start," I laughed.

He smiled and caressed me and then jumped off the balcony into a tree and then climbed the rest of the way down.

"Caylin have you lost your mind?! You could have gotten hurt."

"Nothing can hurt someone when they're in love," he said as he blew me a kiss. "Goodnight fair lady," he grinned.

"Fare thee well, good sir," I smiled back at him.

I walked into my room where Sirius lay across the bed as a bobcat. He purred and stretched.

"Flirting late into the night again?" he laughed.

"What if I am?" I joked with him.

"Well..," he paused.

"Ha! Can't think of a comeback, can you?"

"Just give me some time."

"Alright while you think of a pathetic comment to my sly remark I'm going to go change."

I grabbed a pair of Caylin's baggy trousers and a soft cotton shirt that the castle had provided for me. I decided not to borrow any fancy clothes from the castle. When I came back from changing I saw Sirius now lying on his back on my bed.

"Think of anything yet?"

"Good," I said as I rolled him over to one side of the bed to make room for myself. I sighed silently in distress as I crawled under the covers.

"You think they won't come?" Sirius asked me.

"Your mother and Cara of course, who else?"

"How'd you know about that?"

"I saw you reading that chapter of the magic book a lot and making notes to yourself in it. There is no one else it could be. Plus you've been restless lately so I read a little into your mind."

"You know I hate when you do that."

"I'm sorry, but I just wanted to see what was wrong."

"Fine, but don't do it again."

"Ok, but don't worry I have a good feeling they'll come."

"If you say so."

Despite the worries that still lingered in my heart I was able to seek peace in sleep. The next morning was all business. As soon as I woke up one of the maids rushed me into a bath. It was another of those stream looking ones except the water was quite cold.

"God, are you trying to freeze me to death?"

"Milady, there is no use in complaining."

Before I could stop them one of the elfin maids pierced the tip of my ear.

"Sorry my lady, but you will be thankful for it later."

I grumbled as she put the earring on my ear.

When I got out the most gorgeous dress I had ever seen was laying in front of me. It was light blue with long sleeves. But the sleeves only attached to my arm at the shoulder and the wrist. They reached down to the floor though. The skirt of the dress was not big and puffy like all the ones at the castle; mine was simple. It had a small train, but nothing too much. It was a fitted dress. At my waist there was a string of small sapphires that wrapped around.

After I dried myself I slipped into the wonderful dress. I let my hair hang down my back. Anondra gave me a diamond necklace to wear. She showed me what I'd receive when I was to become a princess. There was a gold band that wrapped around the top of my head and it had a diamond on the front. (So the diamond would be seen on my forehead with part of the band) I would also be presented with my family ring which was gold with a sapphire in it, but if you looked close at the sapphire you could see a night sky with stars. And at times you could see my name in it. Each member of the family had a customized one.

Two servants took the ring and the head piece. Anondra fastened the necklace on me.

"You look beautiful, sweetheart."

I curtsied and laughed. "I guess it's time to get this show on the road."

"Your father will be waiting at the top of the steps that go to the throne room. Your grandfather, Corion, and I will be standing at the other end. Your father will escort you to us. I will place the head piece on you, Elorfindel will then put the ring on your finger, and then Corion will escort you off to the side and we will join you two there. After we're done Leoran will be coronated."

I nodded.

"I must go take my place now. When the music starts you may enter."

After Anondra left I sneaked out onto a small balcony that looked over the throne room. I saw Caylin and just as I found him he smiled up at me. 'That's so strange how he would know I'm up here.' I decided to ask him later. I searched the whole ball room, but neither my mother nor Cara were anywhere in sight. When I reentered my room Sirius was sitting on my bed. He was in the form of a snow leopard.

"You didn't think I'd let you do this alone."

"You look very nice," I smiled.

"I thought I'd dress up for the occasion."

I listened for a moment and then heard the music. "Time to go." I began walking towards the steps with Sirius on my right side.

"Deep breaths, Arie. You can do this," he whispered to me.

I laughed, "I can lead an army into battle, this should be nothing."

When I got to the steps my dad was not the one standing there. Selene, my mother, was there in front of me. She took my left arm in hers and we began walking down the steps. Sirius nuzzled my leg. "I told you they wouldn't let you down," he whispered.

My mom leaned her head towards mine, "You look wonderful, my darling. I'm glad I'm here."

"Me too."

Before I knew it we were in front of my elf family. And Cara was standing by Corion. After my mother left me with Elorfindel, my dad escorted her to the side. As Anondra said she placed the gold circlet on my head and then Elorfindel put the ring on my finger and then said, "Lady Arianna, you are now and forever more Princess Arianna Selene Williams of Loriana."

I curtsied and walked to the side with Corion, Cara, and Sirius. We stood with Caylin, Joshua, and my mom and dad. Elorfindel and Anondra soon joined us. A priest was in their places now. Leoran walked down the steps alone. He wore a long cape and red and gold tunic and trousers. His belt was gem encrusted and so was his cape. He walked like he was born to be king. There was not a doubt in my mind that he would serve his people well.

The priest said a lot of stuff that I didn't pay attention to. But finally the time came when a magnificent crown was place on Leo's head. Everyone in the room bowed or curtsied. After that was finished Leoran announced, "On to the festivities!"

We moved into a large ballroom that soon filled with people. As soon as I entered one of the nobles asked me to dance. If I wanted to remain polite I would have to. So I graciously accepted. I dance with two barons, three counts, four lords, and a duke before I finally found Caylin again.

"I'm sure you would like a dance as well. But if it's alright with you can we just sit for a little. I'm quite exhausted."

"I can tell."

We walked over to some chairs and I slumped down in one. As soon as I caught my breath he turned to me.

"How'd you do it?"

"Get your mom and Cara to come of course."

"Oh a simple spell. Speaking of them where are they?"

"Your mother has been with Lord Thomas. And Cara and Corion have been talking for a long while."

"Excuse me, Caylin, but may I have a word with my daughter," said my mother as she walked in front of us.

"Yes, of course. After that though, I'm claiming you on the dance floor, Arie."

I smiled and my mom bowed her head to Caylin before she took his chair. Caylin left us there together. It seemed like there was no one else left in the room except for Selene and I.

She held out her hand to me. "I'm Selene Magicus Williams, nice to meet you."

I grinned and took her hand. "As to you Lady Selene. I'm Arie."

"Only Arie?" she raised one eyebrow. "I thought you had a longer name than that."

"Well, Williams doesn't sound very elfin, now does it? And now that you are here I can't go around calling myself Selene. Not that I did to begin with."

She laughed. Her laugh was still of a young woman's. Selene still looked youthful too. It was hard to think of her as my mother when she only looked about 12 years older than I.

"You may use Selene if you wish. After all, I will be returning soon."

I did not have to ask where she was returning to. I did not want to think about her leaving. I raised an eyebrow as she had earlier, "Spirits do not age?"

"No, we do not. Your father looks like an old man," she giggled. "I think your friend Joshua would be a better companion for me than Thomas."

"That he would."

"You didn't do too badly yourself. Prince Caylin is quite handsome."

"I know. What he could possibly see in me, I do not know."

"Don't be silly, he sees a beautiful young elf maiden. Just in case you didn't hear, I'm very proud of you. If any girl deserves to become an elf it is you."

"I wonder about that as well."

"Your ear is red, did you know?" she asked.

"Yes, unfourntantly, one of the maids decided I should have it pierced."

"No worries, lots of elves have it done. Your father used to wear his earring every day. That's probably why I thought he was so handsome."

We both snickered. "I think Caylin is waiting for you." She pointed towards Caylin, who was wandering around the ball room.

"I better go dance with him. He'll be disapointed if I don't. Will you stay after the party?"

"For a short while."

"I would like to introduce you to Zorro and Sirius then. Though I'm sure Sirius is wandering somewhere around here."

"I will be pleased to meet them."

She kissed me on the forehead before I left. Caylin noticed my presence and swept me onto the dance floor. We danced at a quick pace with the other pairs.

"I thought you were to claim me for all the dances," I declared as the music switched to a slow song. I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I had hoped to. However, that was not a possibility so the rest will have to be enough."

"Oh, will they? I still haven't danced with Corion, Joshua, either of my grandfathers or Leo."

"Fine then, the few dances I do spend with you will have to do," he kissed me on the cheek and we continued to dance.

*** Off in the corner my parents watched us.

"How wonderful it is to be young and in love," Selene sighed.

"You still are," father answered.

"I missed you."

"I missed you as well."

"You may not have raised her how I wished you to, but Arianna turned out more amazing then I had ever dreamed. She even found a way to bring us together again, if only for a night."

"I did not mean to bring her up so. Every day I looked at her and saw you. Every day, Selene! Do you know how that felt? It made me think of what I had lost, not what I had."

Selene nodded gravely. "What is done is done. There is no changing the past. Just remember when I'm gone, all you have to do is look at our daughter and you'll realize I did not die in vain. She does love you. Don't think I don't check in on you all. I can tell what both of your emotions are. Arie did inherit you weakness in hiding how you feel just as she inherited an elfin family from you," Selene smiled.

"May I have this dance?"

"Of course, my lord."

I kissed Caylin. "I promise to come back soon. I just want to have a word with Cara."

"No problem."

I found Cara with Corion. I bowed my head to Corion and he did the same to me before leaving. Cara ran up and hugged me.

"You did it! You killed that awful man! You saved my brother as well. Without having someone else to live for he would have taken is own life, but he had you. He would not be so selfish. He has a little cousin to take care of, now. It's hard to bear not being with him, but it would have been harder to bear knowing that he had killed himself because of me."

I did not know how to respond. There was no way I could have guessed she would say these things. I asked, "Will you be alright?"

"I will. But please know that you have my everlasting gratitude."

"Thank you." I hugged her again. "I'm proud to have you as my cousin, Cara."

"Thank you."

We smiled at each other. Each of us had a tear or two in our eyes.

"I'll let you get back to the guests," she said.

"Unfourntantly I must. I never wished to dance with all these boring nobles."

Cara laughed while we parted. As I expected another of Leo's guests got to me before I could reach Caylin.

This man loved to talk about himself like many of the others. At the same moment I could not take any more, Josh came over.

"May I cut in?"

The man was hesitant, but he did not refuse.

"So Arie, will you still allow me to be your wizard. You've proven yourself to be a decent witch after all."

"I agree I don't think I need a wizard anymore, but I could always use old friends. Would you like to join us in Loriana?"

"I would," he answered as he twirled me around. Leoran took my hand.

"Old bud, will you let me interrupt you, so I may dance with the lady."

Josh grumbled playfully, "Go ahead." I then began to dance with Leo.

"How ironic. We both became royalty. Truthfully I was not expecting it."

"Well, we are. I hope you will be happy."

"I'm not sure if I will. I know you still feel resentment towards me and you have all the right to. But it will be lonely without you."

"I'm sure you'll find someone more. suiting for you."

"I'm sure I will."

"You can rest easy, knowing I'll be happy."

"I always knew you would be. Do you remember that day in court, when we first met the elves?"

"Yes, of course."

"Geraldo had said something to you. Do you remember what it was?"

"He said many things to me. I try not to think of them."

"He said you would get what you deserved. And I think you have. You deserve to live in Loriana with the elves. You deserve to be one of them. You deserve to have such great friends," he grinned. "And you deserve to have a person like Caylin love you so much. You deserve all of it. As I've said many times you truly are an amazing girl, Arianna."
