Authoress Note: The characters in this story are based on me (Amanda), and three of my best friends (Jessika, Jadyn, and Jack). We plan to move to New York when we're older, so I wanted to make up a nice story about us living there! Also Jack has a room mate based on someone too….hehehe. This should be fun!
Chapter One
Friends are God's way of taking care of us. - Unknown
It was 8:45 in the morning in September in New York City. In a small apartment building in the lower west side three twenty one year old girls were getting ready for another great Monday. Jessika Webb, a blonde wearing a black skirt and purple lacey top, was making coffee and preparing herself for first class at NYU, which was biology. Amanda and Jadyn, her two best friends she shared the apartment with, were being oddly unheard from the one bedroom they all shared in the apartment. As we said before, everything was quiet until...
"JADYN! Where the hell did you put pink tank top?! I need it!" Jessika heard Amanda's voice yelling from behind the door. Jadyn opened it, and came out blow drying her hair with her neon green battery powered hair dryer. She mumbled something about insane blue bunnies taking the shirt. Jessika poured herself a cup of coffee and sat on the stool of the small bar/counter. Jadyn sat on the floor and picked up a bottle of red nail polish on the small coffee table. She began painting her toe nails with the violent colour, while holding the hair dryer in her other hand. Amanda then came rushing out of the room, wearing just her pink, girly bra and pink Day-Of-The-Week panties with "Monday" written on them.
"I don't know where your bloody shirt is damn it! Let's think for a moment, dear Amanda. What guys bedroom were you last in?" Jadyn looked up and said to her friend. Amanda stuck her tongue out at her.
"You guys, can we please have a somewhat normal, if not quiet morning?" Jessika was like the mediator of the trio. But she could be really wild when she wanted to. She had long blonde hair, was very tall, and had a sweet boyfriend named Hayden. Jessika was studying to be a pediatrician. She and Hayden hoped to marry someday, and maybe open their own pediatrics center.
"Normal? With Jade living here? Think again, sweet heart!" Amanda laughed. Amanda was the crazy one, who just wanted to have fun She was short, just 5 feet tall, with long brown hair. She worked at a bar at night, but during the day she worked and studied ballet at the Broadway Dance Center.
"Right Amanda..." Jadyn continued to paint her nails. Jadyn was an optimist and loved to make people laugh. She had nice hair and was tall. Jadyn also worked and studied at the Broadway Dance Center. Other then dance, she had a job at Starbucks. Amanda and her fought constantly, but they loved each other. They would dance together and of course were in the same yoga class.
Suddenly a knock was heard at the door. Amanda went to answer it, but Jessika pushed her to the wall, where when the door was opened would hide her.
"C'mon now Amanda. You can't answer the door like that..." Jess pulled open the door to reveal a smiling, good looking young man with dark brown, almost black, hair. Amanda peaked from behind the open door, and flung her arms around him.
"Jacky!" He hugged her back and walked in, Jessika closing the door behind him.
"Do you ladies have any chocolate chips? Danny ate the last of our bag when he was sleep walking, and Cheerios just don't taste the same without them." Jack was Jadyn's twin brother, and Danny was his "special friend". Yes, Jack was gay and it was a shame because all the girls wanted him.
"Icky, on Cheerios?" Jadyn said to her brother. She was done with her nails and was now eating a cherry Pop-tart. Jack nodded and began looking through the cabinets. There wasn't much in them, because it was Amanda's week to go shopping and she had a slight procrastination problem. The girls only responsibility was to pay for groceries and clothes and other things like that. The rent was paid for by Jessika's very awesome uncle because when he found out she got into medical school, he was absolutely thrilled. Jessika poured some coffee into a portable cup and grabbed her bag.
"Well, I've got to be going to class now. See you all later!" And she left the three, Jadyn dipping her Pop-tart into Coca Cola, Amanda in her underwear talking up a storm, and Jack, sitting on the countertop and now eating a bowl of Cheerios and chocolate chips. These were her friends, and, as crazy as they were, she loved them.
