I was back at camp. the familiar bad weather was crashing down on us. Pouring rain. I was running from the cabin down to the lodge. The rain was pelting down at me and I was freezing. The mud was slipping out from underneath me but I didn't slow down a bit. I was almost to the lodge when some park rangers called me into the ranger station. there wasn't any ranger station last year, so this was a big out of the ordinary. They told me and the two girls I was with that they suspected we had been drinking. I said of course now, but they decided to test for our BAC anyway. They took mine and told me I was 100% alcohol free and therefore my "number" was 75. I suppose 75 was the ideal number. Julia was 82 and Blair (somebody from preschool) was 74. The rangers looked us over suspiciously and said to go head back to the cabins.
We began running up the mountain and suddenly Julia sprinted ahead, probably to get out of the rain. I stuck back with Blair and we took the mountain at a slower pace because we had suddenly found out that Blair was pregnant. We finally got to the entrance of the cabin and had to go through a series of tubes and tunnels. But we were so wet that we kept slipping through them like a water park slide. I went first and all the way through the tunnels I could hear Blair shrieking frantically behind me. I landed in the cabin on the soft oriental rug that never existed in my real cabin, and was surrounded by people that never really went to camp. There was Connor in particular from the cross country team. Suddenly Blair shot out of the end of the tunnel and landed on the floor with a bang. She was rubbing her stomach with a wincing face and people asked her what was wrong. She told them she was pregnant. At that, Connor started laughing and calling her a slut. I yelled at Connor (yes, yelled) and told him he'd better stop bugging my friend.
After awhile, Blair was hiding in some curtains, and Connor was running around doing something dumb like weaving through the curtains Blair was hiding in. As a "disguise" Blair was holding up a branch of my lamp so that nobody would suspect she was hiding in the curtains. Connor saw the branch of the lamp and said "There is one blue, one green, one red. and two yellows. This must be some kind of dirty trick!" and with that he looked into the curtains and found Blair.
Within some time Blair was no longer the pregnant one. I WAS! I was forced to work to support myself too. I was fat and sick from the baby, even though I was only a few weeks pregnant. As my job, I cleaned houses. well, one house in particular, the house of an old lonely widow. I also had to baby-sit her enormous yet mentally retarded son. He resembled Frankenstein. The first time I went over, she was in her kitchen putting away groceries. She asked me to help and I said "sure!" She had giant carts FULL of expired condiments. Looking around there was a green light, kind of like in the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Her sink was dripping too, but it was filled with dirty water from washing dishes in. There were still food particles floating in it, and the water was cloudy. There was only about an inch of water but you could not see the bottom of the sink at all. I was appalled.
I continued helping her put away her groceries and trying to fit her gigantic amounts of mold-growing condiments into her old fridge. The interior of the fridge was rusting and growing mold as well. I finished putting away the condiments and she left me with the kid.
As I was talking to the kid, I realized that even though he was incredibly scary, because he was mentally retarded he was actually very nice. He asked me about being pregnant but didn't really understand it. he seemed to think it was a disease.
