Disclaimer: This is kind of a weird "story". It was an eighth grade English assignment, but I kinda liked it so I polished it up and now it's here. Please tell me what you think. I might even make it into a story (like the prologue or something) if enough people think I should. Read and please review :)

"Princess"

As I gazed into the azure blue sky, I imagined what it would be like to be a butterfly, wild and free. Butterflies are one of the most beautiful creatures in the world, I think. Even though they only live for a short time, imagine what it would be like to be one. To fly all day and drink the sweet nectar of the colorful flowers. To be free to fly wherever you wished.

I rolled over the grassy hill and stared into the ocean way off in the distance. It called to me.
"Come, come. Swim here; be free." I nearly tripped while running down the hill to play in the carefree, navy blue waves. When I finally arrived on the beach, I wanted nothing more than to dive into the clear blue water, and yet I paced myself. Remember, good things come to those who wait. So I took off my shoes, held up my silvery summer dress, and took a long walk down the beach. The sand squished under my feet and tickled my ankles. I sat down in the shade and thought of the ocean. Finally, I could resist it no longer. I threw my shoes into the sand dunes and raced into the ocean. I swam like a dolphin, wild and free, and beautiful.
I swam for hours not wanting to leave my perfect paradise. I forced myself to get out of the "pool" and ran up the sand dunes to my shady spot. I pulled out my picnic basket and had my lunch of dry breads, tart wine, sweet meats, and succulent peaches in their own juices for dessert. After my small feast I packed up. It was getting late and I couldn't afford any suspicion. I left my safe haven and returned back to the dismal castle life of a princess enslaved by royalty. But don't worry, I'll be back.
