Leap of Faith

I gaze at you with scared green eyes,

As you loosen the rope which us together it ties.

You return my look with your determined grey,

As if you know that with our bodies our spirits shall stay.

"Ladies first!" you declare with a grin,

And I realise the fear that you conceal within.

I turn and stare out upon the rocky landscape,

As all my emotions form into one solid shape.

Into solid determination which hovers in my breast,

I say quietly to myself that it's time to take the test.

I step towards the edge, watched by a wraith,

I jump forward into the light, crisp air, to take the Leap of Faith.
