Prologue

Properta was one of the lands in the first world of Cetra, which was in the Realm of Beyond, Fantasia. It was a time before the Children of the Winds were awakened from their common positions in the New World, the Old World, and the Otherworld. In Properta, everything fell to belief of prophecies.

In the years before Garabon took over as ruler, there was peace in all of Properta. There were no rebellions and fights under the rule of the wise King Zhane. Everyone was treated the same and equally. The nobles were treated like peasants. The peasants were treated like nobles. There was no racial discrimination. Everything was just grand. Most in the ages before had thought of this as a utopian society.

Then, suddenly and mysteriously, the king disappeared. There was confusion and puzzlement on why. There were also rumors on how he disappeared. After a week of search, many people assumed that he had died.

Garabon, second in office to Zhane, declared himself supreme ruler. When asked how the former king had vanished, he stated that the king had died of old age and his soul was at rest. The king couldn't have died of old age. He wasn't even considered old.

In time, Garabon sent out an order that those who were not loyal to him would be executed. Rumors began that Garabon had something to do with Zhane's disappearance. The original rumors had included Garabon as the responsible, but most people ignored that part of the rumor. Now, people began to suspect.

The people that did not believe in Garabon went into hiding and absconded. They were both nobles and peasants alike. Secret stations were formed along with special training centers. These were the places that the refugees hid and formed.

In the special training centers, skilled teachers instructed young people ranging from the toddler age to the teenage to the young adult. The trained students came to be named cadets.

Many of these cadets vowed to defeat Garabon and his forces. Few were chosen to go on the missions. The missions' purpose was to collect information and, if possible, spy and escape. (A cadet on a mission was called a missionary.) So far, all that were chosen and sent on missions never returned. They were all devoted to their missions.

Most of these cadets were orphans. They set a goal up. Once, it was set up, they were determined to achieve it even if it meant sacrificing themselves. Of all these attempts and trials, only one came close, but hope was lost when he died in a second attempt.

There was only one lead to when Garabon's downfall would occur. It was in a prophesied legend. In the legend, four cadets would go to the Dark Gates. Three would make it inside. One would escape. Then, later, that One would return to the Dark Gates. The legend also said that the One that would escape would have the power to protect itself. The One would have a natural ability at jumping and other skills needed…

And so, here begins a tale of cadets in one of the stations…
