Epilogue
The breeze blew quietly through the trees, making the grass ripple, a little like the sea. Silence reigned in the quiet space.
The still silence was broken but the low crunch of boots on the gravel path. They sounded as loud as gunshots, echoing in the quiet of the place. They belonged to a young man, dressed in grey. If he had not been the only person there no one would have noticed him. He was as unseen as the air and he blended into the shadows, never quite seeming real.
There was a look of disbelief on his face as he walked purposefully through the stones, but it gradually slowed as he got to the place he was searching for, almost as if he didn't want to see what he had come for.
But he had to. There was a set to his shoulders and firmness to his walk that told any outsider that he was going to keep walking until he saw it, no matter how much it was going to hurt him.
Then he saw it. It was just a small black marble slab, no flowers, no elegant script, just a name and dates. There wasn't even a tribute from friends or family. Nothing special about it at all.
She was dead.
Even his heart seemed to stop in the moment that he saw it, and the stillness was no longer peaceful but unnerving and eerie.
Then his heart began to beat ten times faster and he knelt at the grave, tears pouring from his eyes, before he looked up in determination.
He was not going to let this happen. She was not going to end up here. He would never let her die.
He would give her eternity.

AN: And so this story finally comes to an end. I'm so sorry for all of you sappy ending people out there (including me) but I had this ending planned from the beginning, there was a reason this story was called Eternity, (i.e.- Connor's stuck in that loop for all eternity… aww). I've never written a character death before either so I probably mucked it up. I could hardly bring myself to write it really. And I am very sad that that is it… The story is over and finally done with, more than 6 months after it was first begun as a random piece of drabble on a spare piece of file paper that I wasn't even sure if I should rip up or not… Now to the 'thank you's Firstly to those of you who reviewed chapter 9…
Willow3- my marvellous beta, thanks for actually making me turn this into a fic to start with. It would never have got past the first chapter without you.
NeverEndingQuest- My best reviewer, thanks for actually keeping with the story and not giving up on me even after 6 months… lol! I hope the ending doesn't bother you that much. Here, have a Connor plushie **hands over Connor plushie**
Aiur- Thanks! This ending isn't quite so cute, I don't think, but I'm better at angst really. Hope you like it.
Now to everyone else…
