In shadows we hide
Not telling our true selves
To eternity we bide
Placing truth on shelves
Mysterious and deadly we can be
When all else fails what can we do?
To lie there in a pit contemplating me
As, or so, I think you do
Never seeing truth
Because I think it unfair
Holding on to noble youth
And the questions there
Blaming our pride on another
When it is our one fault
We come to terms with each other
When we come to close we yell halt
Keep away our true being
Then falling behind the rest
Why do I try when no one is seeing
But then I know I hide it lest
We all forget what we did and who we are
In the lasting moments to go, but where
To fly away or run far
But can we do it? Do we dare?
We never can tell what someone's thinks
So I find that we are all doomed
We will not admit to whom we are or if we jinx
We just live life always just assumed
That is how we are
