It is easy to forget, when we are full and warm,
That others live on the street, their lives broken and torn.
Do not forget about the children, homeless on the street,
Do not forget that those children tonight have nothing to eat.
Do not forget that others just like you,
Have to wait in endless lines just to get a bit of stew.
Do not forget that tonight thousands fall asleep beneath a box,
Do not forget that you have a house with windows, doors and locks,
Do not forget that others are less fortunate than you,
Do not forget that there is something you can do,
Do not forget that every blanket and pillow counts,
Do not forget that every bit of food can fill those hungry mouths.
So when you fall asleep at night tucked safely in your bed,
Think not of what could be done for you,
Think of what you could do instead.
