WILDERNESS

Cold wind chills the chasm,
Emptiness echoes across the earth,
Bleak sunlight beats upon barren sands,
No-one's welcome in this wasted world.

Desperation at this daunting dead end,
Hopelessly hunting for the way home,
Searching the stars to free your soul,
Nothing here but the never-ending night.

The crescent moon cries it's celestial tear,
Forgotten friends fade into darkness,
Icy heart, imagining impossible love,
As I gaze into this great gaping hole.

The twilight tells it's sad tale,
A magic melody curls with the mist,
I stand as one, aching and angry,
This lonely land leaves me lost.
