When day turns to night,

When three shall merge,

When Merlin is proved right,

The Order of the Phoenix, from the world, evil shall purge.

The boy who lived, the heir, the dream, the shadow, the evil turned good, the opposing one, and the child twice blessed, who shall never be alone,

Shall stand together and one will wield the sword to ensure that the Dark Lord with his Dark Queen shall fall.

This is the prophecy known as the Order of Merlin, which is supposedly a secret organization formed during the time of Merlin to help him fight off dark witches and wizards. The prophecy was written by the Oracle concerning future members of the Order. The Oracle then gave the prophecy to Merlin who tore it in half, keeping one part—that's the one I just read to you—for himself and destroying the other. The part that he destroyed was a key of sorts that revealed vague hints as to who the people described in the second part of the Prophecy are. When Merlin taught me all he knew, he mentioned the prophecy briefly enough so that I could decipher who several of the people were. However, after I imprisoned him and took the Prophecy, he put a spell on me that would keep me from saying anything that might give away who the members of the Order will be.

Okay, so it's not a poem. It's a prophecy. I put it in the Mythology section because this is a conversation Vivien (hello—Vivien—as in the evil enchantress who imprisoned Merlin) had with someone else. This prophecy was originally a part of one of my fanfics (What You Don't Know Can't Hurt You, which can be found in the HP section on ffnet.) but I wanted to know what people thought of the prophecy itself and not just how it fit in with the storyline. If you're interested, you're welcome to check out the story and tell me what you think of it. However, I'd be even happier if you clicked that small blue button in the lower left hand corner of the screen and told me what you think of the prophecy.
