The Way to the Wind
Prologue: Open the Way
The youth stood and laughed a laugh that had become forgotten. It spoke of life and of freedom, born of a confidence that there were no boundaries, not even the open sky.
The wind whipped through his pale hair, carrying his laugh over the open land…
The youth stopped his laughter and smiled smugly. "Open the way to the wind," he said.
He walked back from the edge of the plateau. Then he turned, ran, and leaped, trusting his fate to the wind and the world below.
