Why did you lead me to believe

That life would begin once I was there with you?

Why did you make me part of your web of deceit?

Lies clouding my judgment with no trace of truth.

Why did you try to sabotage my happiness

In favor of your own selfish desires?

Why didn't you listen to my cries of despair?

Instead waiting for tears to transpire.

Why do you lie to 'spare me disappointment'

Not being straight with me when you really should.

Why do you break so many promises?

Not following through when you said you would.

Well, it's too late now

The damage has been done

I thought old wounds were healing

Love and respect re-won.

But I know now

That it can never be

You've dug yourself in too deep

And won nothing but contempt from me.
