Memory
In the doorway,
I see his silouette.
The sun's bright light streaming in.
I stare at him as he comes my way,
It seems like each footfall takes minuetes.
Like a huge wave coming to crush,
He comes and gives me a hug.
His silent ways are enticing,
And is starting to make me blush.
I can't wait 'til the day he says,
"I'll love you forever, my dear."
I'm forcing back all my tears.
Oh, I remember those days,
But they are just memories.
He will no longer be here.
